"The Films of Kenneth Anger"? - 4/27?

I was browsing around on the Upcoming Release page at mondo-digital and they list The Films of Kenneth Anger (Fantoma) under April 27th.

Can anybody confirm this? The Fantoma site says nothing and the Mystic Fire site (they were planning to release this once upon a time) is equally mum.

I'm crossing my fingers as I type.

Me too. I just became familiar with Anger's work, but only have seen Invocation Of My Demon Brother and Scorpio Rising, so I really want to see the rest.

Good job of typing with crossed fingers!

I first heard rumors of this DVD 2 years ago. Oddly enough, it had an April release date back then, too (I had made a note of it). I hope it is actually going to happen this time. I haven't seen any of the films but I've read some of his books and articles.

I've never seen any of his films but have read a bit about his short films. I'd love to catch some on DVD.

According to imdb, these titles will be released by Fantoma on DVD.

- Fireworks (1947)
- Puce Moment (1949)
- Rabbit's Moon (1950)
- Eaux d'artifice (1953)
- Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome (1954)
- Scorpio Rising (1964)
- Kustom Kar Kommandos (1965)
- Invocation of My Demon Brother (1969)
- Lucifer Rising (1973)

Fantoma's web site hasn't been updated in a very long time.

Wasn't the original VHS of Scorpio Rising from Mystic Fire recalled due to music rights issues? If it is indeed coming on DVD, they must have worked the rights out. At any rate, it would be nice to see these films on DVD.

Fantoma first announced a release for this DVD in 2001, so it's been a long time in coming (perhaps slowed by music rights issues). That said, it will be a must-buy for me. I hope the April 27th date is firm.
