The fact that this will also contain There's Always Vanilla is incredible.

I had always been under the impression that There's Always Vanilla had been re-titled Season of the Witch. I didn't know they were two seperate movies.
After the seeing the two scenes on the Night of the Living Dead DVD, I was interested in seeing the entire film. Looking forward to this coming out.

It's an interesting little movie. I know a lot of people don't care for it, but I have a soft spot for it. I probably watch it at least once a year.
I'm pretty excited about this new edition -- it looks to be about 15 minutes longer than the one I've always watched. The Vanilla just makes this all the more of a no-brainer.

Yup, two completely different films. Although Season of the Witch has gone by other titles, such as Hungry Wives and Jack's Wife. It was eventually retitled to tie in with both the Donovan song and to appear closer to the subject matter common to most of Romero's films.

"There's Always Vanilla" was not a "lost" film. It's just been unavailable for so many years because no legitimate video company ever wanted to release it due to its limited appeal. A screener of the film passed my desk about 15 years ago directly from the film's agent after we expressed interest in releasing it at that time. We ended up passing on it, however, because it had such very little appeal to any kind of mass audience. AB is doing the smart thing by adding it as a "bonus" on the SOTW disc. I doubt it would sell many copies on its own outside of the devoted fan-base of Romero completists.
And AB already released the 104 minute version of "Jack's Wife" on VHS several years ago under the SOTW title. Nice to finally get it on DVD, though, and hopefully they'll correct the soundtrack which had strange newly recorded sound efx on it. Just give us the original mono and we'll be happy.
