I had heard this was coming so I held off. I will be glad to see the extra footage. It was awesome in the movie theater.

Just preordered this with STL. At $22.02, shipped, it's definitely a keeper!

vicant,

Huh? "STL"? What's that? No, seriously. I don't know.

I am definitely on the hook for this version! I saw Underworld in the theater and felt that it had great potential, yet somehow still fell a little flat. Watching it again on video I hoped that maybe I would pick up something that I had previously missed, but again felt that the characters were not very well fleshed out and that the story was missing a few crucial elements. I am actually a little more interested in the re-edited scenes as opposed to the extra scenes. Hopefully a rental store will pick this one up so that I can take a look without making the buying plunge.

D'oh! "Share the love". Here I was trying to figure out what e-tailers had the initials STL in their names.

I was thinking of getting this, so I'm glad I caught this thread.

That's a much better cover. I'll pick this up just for Beckinsale's commentary.

Not sure if anyone's seen the back cover at Davisdvd yet, but it DOES NOT list the previous 2 commentaries from the original release. I'm a bit disappointed about this. Especially since they supposedly said that it will.

Maybe the 2 commentaries are hidden or something, but I'd be wary about selling off that original release just yet if you want to keep those commentaries.

The might sound frighteningly obvious, but what exactly is added/changed in the 23 minutes of edits that would make me want to buy it again?

Well, I started to watch my copy about a week ago and one thing that got me thinking was that since this movie may be turned into a trilogy with a possible prequal being one of them, I'm thinking that the prequal would flesh out some of the minor characters some more.

At least that's what I can see in the future. Hopefully that pans out like that, because I'd like to see more about some of the minor characters from the vampire house and lycan house.

If there is a good deal at the local B+M's then I will definitely get it right away. If not then I will have to think about it because I bought the first release- I just couldn't wait.

Well I will probably be picking this one up. I had been debating on whether or not to get it, and when I first heard about a SE, I was curious to see what would be added.

And you didn't buy it? For shame.

Then again, I did the same when I saw TCM way before release date at SAMs. Shortly after I confirmed here that they broke release date I went back (never seen it before but figured what-the-heck) to find all the copies sold.

Well, I didn't know the release date is scheduled in May. I thought...cool...2 discs DVD on a cool movie. I'll just buy it later when I see a hot deal. I wanted to pick up this movie but I'm glad I didn't buy the first edition. I might have to go back there and check again.

Maybe someone can confirm at their local Costco?

I will definitely be picking up a copy this time. I missed out on buying it on sale when it was first released because I didn't see it but then I saw the movie and thought it was very good! Therefore, I will surely buy this version!
