What's up w/Last Year at Marienbad?

Anyone heard anything about this being re-pressed? I was wondering why it wasn't out on DVD, then I realized it came & went before I started collecting. Would obviously prefer to not pay $100+ for a copy.

Even a foreign version would be fine, as I'm multi-region-- any news/rumors/innuendoes appreciated!

No official news of a re-release on the horizon. It could just be another Fox Lorber/Wellspring film disappearing from release.

Wasn't there rumour of Criterion releasing this...i wouldn't be suprised if they did have a release up their sleeves given the titles they are putting out already.

Yeah, Criterion is supposed to be releasing this sometime down the road due to the Wellspring deal they ironed out a while ago. I should probably get rid of my copy pretty soon.

Let's hope the deal runs to releasing a true 'masterworks' edition of Ran

A Criterion release is imminent, as the film is now a part of the Rialto catalogue. Rialto and Criterion work hand in hand and with VERY VERY few exceptions, every Rialto film is released by Criterion/Homevision. Unfortunately, it will probably be a ways off, considering the theatrical rerelease hasn't even happened yet and the turnaround times AFTER the theatrical release is another six months or so. As to when the theatrical release will be, your guess is as good as mine.
