Before this thread seriously derails....

Sorta on topic:

A guy at work saw some copies of this when it was first "released" but never picked up a copy. Even after I told him what happened he said "Oh, well I'll go back there later this week". THEN earlier this week he said he spotted another copy at a Wal*Mart. He thought it had been re-released. I told him to go back and get it. He still said "well, if I have time this weekend". Of course, he tells me these things DAYS after the sightings.

What a lunchbox.

If the guy would have said, "I don't make that much money so I try to make a little here and there to pay the bills" I would undestand. But to come in to a dvdtalk forum and brag about buying dvds so you can sell them and buy more dvds, makes you an ******* in my book. Oh well, some people will probably call me an ******* too...

Yes....down with capitolism. Up with communism where everyone will get a copy of Ed Wood so they don't need to pay a lot of money on eBay.

If you don't like the u.s. economic system then you can geeeeet out of my country.

Hey socialist, get a grip. Market forces decide what people pay. There's nothing immoral about reselling a DVD. This person took their time and spent gas money chasing down the product. People are thankful that they have the opportunity to buy the DVD. Nobody loses.

I see OOP dvds at sotres from time to time, but I don't buy them unless I want the title. I leave it there in hopes that someone who actually wants to enjoy the movie will buy it, but it probably ends up in some dvd whores hands anyway. Oh well, at least my concience is clear.
How generous!

He said it was in Chula Vista... and I believe it was a Wal*Mart. Since he told me days after seeing 'em I figured they were long gone. I'm not sure if there are more than one but when I see him Monday I'll ask which one just in case you wanna check back there.

This isn't a financial forum. This isn't a forum to discuss entrepreneurs and money-making schemes.

It is a forum about DVDs for people who love DVDs and are trying to build a personal collection, and therefore anyone who feels the necessity to brag about their profit-making is simply displaying a lack of class.

Give me a break. Most of the long-time members do this all-time. The guy didn't start this thread talking about how he is making money.

A lot of people (including me) buy extra copies and use Columbia House to fund our purchases. If you have a problem with that, you probably have a problem with 80% of posters in here.
