Tori Amos DVD?

I've heard rumors that there will be a Tori Amos DVD of some type released in the next couple of months. It's supposed to be a live DVD or a video collection. Anybody have some info?

I haven't heard anything and the newsgroups are silent about this topic. THere was supposed to be a video dvd released last year, but it got pulled for some reason.

Her compilation album included a DVD with a few live preformances on it. I wouldn't mind a full length DVD of them.

From www.thedent.com

...It now seems likely that some kind of new DVD release from Tori is in the works for this Spring. Several anonymous sources have told me that May 4, 2004 is a possible release date, but that is still tentative and unofficial...

...I have no details about what this new release will be or any official word that it is true. There are rumors floating around of a CD/DVD release of live material, but that has not been substantiated yet...
For further speculation on what might be on this unconfirmed DVD check out the news from March 10th here http://www.thedent.com/torimain.php And of course keep watching that space for further developments.

A live DVD would be great, of course, but I'm still hoping and waiting for the video collection DVD that was pulled.

Well, I just found the answer to my own question. The new DVD is called Welcome to Sunny Florida and will be released by Epic Records on May 4. Now, if Atlantic would just release the Tori video collection on DVD I would be completely happy.

Crucify
Cornflake Girl
Bells For Her
Concertina
Take To The Sky/Muhammad My Friend
Wednesday

Leather
Cloud on my Tongue
Cooling

Your Cloud
Tombigbee
Virginia
Father Lucifer
Professional Widow
I Can't See New York
Precious Things

1st Encore

Sweet Sangria
Past the Mission

2nd Encore

Tombigbee (again)
Amber Waves
Hey Jupiter (Dakota Version)

Sign me up. I wore out my VHS of her at Madison Square Garden and I also wore out the VHS for the Complete Video Collection.

Yes, I can't wait for a Tori DVD. I really wanted the video collection and still hope that someday it will come out.

A live full concert DVD would be a welcome addition

This just in...from thedent.com

There will also be a companion CD within called Scarlet's Hidden Treasures. The DVD (Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, PCM Stereo) has over 2 hours of live footage, full-length interviews, photos, a tour yearbook, and lyrics for the songs on the CD. One of the songs on the CD will be promoted to radio.

DVD Selections

a sorta fairytale
Sugar
Crucify
Interlude #1
Cornflake Girl
Bells for Her
Concertina
Take To The Sky
Leather
Cloud On My Tongue
Interlude #2
Cooling
your cloud
Father Lucifer
Professional Widow
Interlude #3
I can't see New York
Precious Things

Encore:
Tombigbee
Amber Waves
Hey Jupiter
Credits

CD Selections (Scarlet's Hidden Treasures)

Ruby through the Looking-Glass
Seaside
Bug a Martini
Apollo's Frock
Tombigbee
Indian Summer

----------------------------------------

A good deal, to be sure.

But we're missing a B-side on that CD list: Mountain. That'll be the only one not released otherwise.

And on the DVD, 3 songs have been cut. We can only hope it's a typo.

Atlantic should've released a live DVD containing her 1999 To Venus and Back double album, disc #2, Live Still Orbiting. Best live performance from her IMO. Contains -

Precious Things
Cruel
Cornflake Girl
Bell for Her
Girl
Cooling
Mr. Zebra
Cloud on My Tongue
Sugar
Little Earthquakes
Space Dog
Waitress
Purple People

But the May 4th release sounds just as sweet. I'm all over it.

I was disappointed with her set list/song selections the last time that I saw her live, when she was touring with Alanis and I'm pretty disappointed with this one too.

I love her, so what can I do? But it could have been a bit longer and she really left out some songs that REALLY would have made me a lot happier. And, I don't care who it is, why do they edit songs from the concert off of the dvd? What purpose does that serve the fans and why do they need to or want to do it as a practice in general?

The last two shows of the plugged tour were recorded and were supposed to be for a DVD release but nothing ever came of it. I had posted this information in another Tori thread. If this FL concert didn't come out and all we got was the "bonus" disc from Librarian, that would've been 4 Tori DVD's that were supposed to come out and then didn't.

1) Video Collection
2) Plugged
3) Scarlet Sessions (which I was in the audience for)
4) FL

And that's just what we know about. There are other concerts (like the RAINN concert and the Alanis/Tori PPV special) that were recorded but never released.

I agree with you. This is NOT the best set list there could be. Pretty disappointing actually.

And I was wrong. It's not 3 songs cut. It's 4:

1) Wednesday
2) Virginia (one of my favorites off the new album)
3) Sweet Sangria
4) Past the Mission

Totally pointless.

Aside from the mediocre at best setlist imho, which someone else might think is terrific, does anyone know why a concert is edited for dvd release? It makes me wonder about all the ones that I have that seem like complete shows and really aren't because they edit some applause and jump to a song that wasn't really next and I'm not able to know unless someone who was at the show posts the setlist and it's not the same on the dvd. Which almost never happens with me.

It can't be for time, the concerts just aren't that long. Why film it and release it and not share the entire concert experience? Does anyone know why this would be done to concert dvds? And I have some concerts where a *bonus* song or two from the show is included in the special features. Why is something they edited out for no good reason considered a bonus?

Considering how important OAR is and sound and such here, I would think this would be something people would care about. Edited concert dvds. Why? Anyone?

It was moved...sorry for not informing!

And unfortunately...those specs are still true. It's an edited version of the show

OMG, I just realized there's no Winter on the FL DVD. Somewhat disappointed. Ok, I'm very disappointed. Oh well, pre-ordered anyway.
