Netflix Question

I've never used Netflix before. If I was to rent The Shield Season 2, would I have to rent the entire thing all at once, or one disc at a time. And if it was the entire 5 disc set, would that count as 5 movies? Thanks for your help guys!

Hey -

Yes - you can rent 1 disc at a time or at once.
Yes - it counts them individually - you are allowed up to 3 discs out at one time for the basic package, or 8 out at a time for their top package.

Netflix doesn't count by movies so that term isn't relevent here. Netflix counts by discs. So a 2 disc release would count as 2 discs for rental purposes.

I've noticed that they tend not to list films in terms of first and second disc. So when you select a two-disc SE, it shows up in the queue as only one selection. Does this mean that they only ship the first disc or that they ship both and count them as 2 selections?

Any multi disc release I've ever seen has been listed as Disc 1, Disc 2, etc.

Ah, I see now - you have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see links for the Bonus discs.

They will tell you that a film continues on a second disk and you should rent both. I like it because I never watch extras, so I never have them shipped.

As far a TV seasons...there are buttons to rent individual disks, or one button for the whole season.

Netflix is amazing for watching multiple TV seasons.

TV season sets for shows that I want to SEE but not necessarily OWN is why I signed up.

That, and to catch up on some expensive Hitchcocks and Criterions that I'm not sure if I want to buy. Netflix is great for reducing my "blind buys" because now I can just rent them.

They've changed quite a bit since I quit using them in 2000.
