Seinfeld: Everybody's IN!
From TVShowsonDVD.com:
After months of negotiations and public outrage, the remaining cast members have signed on to the Seinfeld DVD set. The Globe and Mail features an exclusive interview with Jason Alexander in today's paper, and it's worth reading. The situation has brought up a number of issues regarding payment for DVD participation and back-end residuals - information that isn't usually made public. Fans can rest easy knowing that all 4 cast members will be included on the DVDs. Just a reminder - the set should be out around Christmas, 2004 (a specific date isn't known at this time). |
The wheels are in motion!
Audio Commentary by Michael Richards = |
Great news indeed!!! At least now I know in advance what I'll be buying myself for Christmas 2004 -smile-
|
Hopefully the first set will include more then the first season which I believe was only 4 episodes. If I am mistaken please let me know

I think there were six episodes in season one, so surely they'll combine seasons one and two. They really need to do a first class job with this. I would love audio commentaries, if not on every episode, then certainly a good number of them throughout the series. I have two blooper tapes on VHS, so a lengthy gag reel, divided up by season, would certainly be great and obviously already exists.
But first and foremost, they have got to pay full attention to the video and audio quality of these episodes. Don't try to cram so many episodes on a disc that we lose quality. It deserves a first rate job, and as fans, so do we. If "Seinfeld" has, in fact, earned a billion dollars in revenue, then the last thing they need to do is skimp on quality. |
Nice  I was hoping Jason Alexander would give in and participate. George has to be one of the funniest characters ever on TV. I cannot believe he never won an Emmy.

This made my day. Can't wait.
:banana::banana::banana: |
This is great news! Can't wait!
If what Jason Alexander is saying is true, in that article... then I think the rest of the cast got the big scroogie (in regards to the royalties for reruns). They definitely were right for asking for compensation for the DVDs. I can't blame them one bit. |
YAY!
|
"Do you ever get down on your knees and thank God you know me and have access to my dementia?"
"Jerry, just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it." "You know I always wanted to pretend I was an architect." "Yeah, you better give me the insurance. Because I'm gonna beat the hell out of this car." I can go on, and on.... :D |
Combine seasons? Why?
The folks who are putting this together know that people will pay a ridiculous amount for two seperate sets for the first 23 episodes which comprised seasons 1 and 2. I know that I will happily bend over and grab my ankles for them. Does it suck? Sure, but I love this show. Supply and demand. For the record I am very happy the co-stars are getting a cut of the pie. I thought it was stupid that they were expected to contribute "for the love of it." |
I could see them combining seasons or just releasing 2 sets. Three's Company, which only had 6 episodes in season 1 was released separately from season 2.

Will Larry David be involved with the DVDs?
|
good for Jason, Michael & Julia
Jason's right, what happened for the last season of the show was very, very wrong. And anyone who says the show IS Seinfeld is crazy. Glad to see they're finally being compensated [somewhat]. It's a shame that $$$ always seems to taint things... |
Woo-hoo!!! This informaton really made my day (and hopefully Larry David will be involved). I don't remember, for sure, but was Julia Louis Dreyfus even in the first few episodes?
Can't wait for Seinfeld to finally be on DVD. |
I saw Seinfeld live last weekend and after his performance he took questions from the audience. Someone asked about the dvd and his response was "I recognize the need for the DVD. After all, the show is only on 19 times a day, so there are gaps to fill." ;) Great news to hear that everyone is on board.

great great news!!!

SERENITY NOW!
|
Even though this show an be seen 10 times a day in syndication, I will gladly purchase every DVD set made available..
I agree though that Season 1 and 2 should be combined since Season 1 was only 5 episodes... |
