Finally! Sounds like a great one too...Bakshi commentary should be something to experience! I hope a brave distributor takes on Coonskin one of these days, deluxe-style.

By the way, I've always wanted one of these below, but it's always been on the backburner. With the movie coming to dvd, I figured the time was now to hunt one down, before prices went up again. These used to fetch about $40-$50, but I actually snagged this one for $25.
Check it out...

Sure, if you dig trippy animation, and stories about the perseverance of the human spirit (well, humanoid spirit) in the midst of apocalyptic despair and chaos.
It's a wonderful film.

What a treat watching this reminds me of the midnight sleeper showings where I saw all my favorite films for the first time.
The DVD is pretty nice for a completely cell animated filml the color and movement look rich and natural. Featured is the original mono soundtrack and a new stereo track which adds a little depth to the wonderfully sparse audio. I haven't listened to the commentary but the featurette with Bakshi is terrific. He mentions that this is the only DVD he will do anything for as this film is special. He also says that a petition is the only reason the DVD came about. If anyone has links to petitions for

Question: I think I am mixing my Bakshi films up, which film of his has a version of 'Scarbourough Fair' in the film's soundtrack?

Picked this up as a blind buy based on gut feeling and some recommendations. Boy am I ever glad I did. Great flick . . . beautiful and unique animation . . . glad I took the jump . . . thanks for the encouragement.
