Nero Wolfe Season Two coming in June

I received an email from www.tvshowsondvd.com stating that Nero Wolfe Season Two is slated for release on 6/15/04.

A&E sent out an email as well. Here's part of it: "We're also happy to announce that Nero Wolfe Season Two should be available for pre-order in our online store within the next several weeks! The DVD set is currently scheduled to ship in June, and will include some great bonus features like The Making of Nero Wolfe and Golden Spiders! Stay tuned for more info on how to reserve your copy! Dates and details subject to change. "

Fingers crossed on their including the Making of and Golden Spiders! Wish I could pre-order at DDD but it's not up yet.

Extremely satisfactory!

I'm getting it. One of my favorite A&E shows when it was on. I'm praying they put the Golden Spiders on there so the set will be complete.

Great news! The first season was great, I'm looking forward to season 2. Someone at the Pfight yahoo group posted this about the Golden Spiders:

I emailed A&E (twice in fact) about the issue of TGS and just got a
response from dear Anthony.

************************
In all likelihood, The Golden Spiders will appear on DVD. However,
product information is subject to change, and we are waiting for
confirmation on this title before we place this information into our
online store. We appreciate your patience and interest in the Nero
Wolfe series. We will make confirmed information available to Nero
Wolfe fans as it becomes available to us.
************************

So no promises, but it looks good. I'll post this over at the A&E
boards too, to keep the communication lines open (since A&E isn't so
hot at it ...)

I've been thinking about a blind-buy for the first one. What's it like?

I'm not sure how much Nero Wolfe knowledge you have so...

The show is based on a series of detective novels by Rex Stout. The two central characters are Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin. Nero Wolfe is the brains behind the operation. Since he is fat and lazy and seldom leaves the house, he relies on Archie to perform any necessary legwork. Archie Goodwin is intelligent in his own right and not afraid to use his attractiveness with the ladies to get results.

The show is classy. A&E really did a wonderful job (at least until they canned it ). It's also funny as hell. The relationship between Nero Wolfe and Archie is something to behold.

I'm jealous. I wish I could watch it again for the first time...

Didn't this season originally air letterboxed? I wonder why only "The Silent Speaker" is 16x9 enhanced on the extras disc, but the main discs are all full-frame.

Does anybody know the name of the song (the clarinet number) that plays during the menus for the first season?

Great news. Great series.

I know the series has been canceled. Has anyone heard anything about any drive to bring it back? If not as a series, but as a occasional 2 hour special?

Bump to remind people that this is now available.

I'm still waiting for mine from DDD. Trying to be patient...

I just got my copy yesterday from A&E, and a free Nero Wolfe T-shirt. It's a five disc set and includes a short the making of Nero Wolfe. I watched the first two discs. Video is excellent. Great show. I really like the ensemble nature of the show, with certain actors playing different role in different episodes. I hope they do the occasional two hour special. I heard that Timothy Hutton would like to do two hour specials. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Still waiting for mine to ship from DDD. I thought about ordering from A&E, but couldn't bring myself to pay that much extra for a T shirt.
