Wish they'd had done this right the first time, double dip time again.

i JUST got the 2 disc set from Brazil. *sigh*
Glad I deleted it before I ordered the other day.

From Davisdvd.com

This two-disc set will feature 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer with English Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS Surround tracks. Bonus features have yet to be announced, but my feeling is that this may just be a repackaging of the previous release with a trifle new material thrown in. Retail will be $26.99.

There's more than a "trifle" judging from the list I saw. Either way...it'll be mine...AGAIN.

Can anyone who has the R2 SPR give out an overview of the supplements? Are they any good?

What R2 do you speak of? if you're talking about the 2 disc that's already out there, it's available in more than just R2.

And there are no extra supplements. It just has ALL the extras on the 5.1 disc. The DTS disc dropped the documentary. Nothing else.

It could be one of those book-like custom cases (like Pearl Harbor).

Why is everyone getting so excited? Do you really think DVD's will still be around in 2058 for the 60th anniverssary?

Experiencing my first 'double dip or not'. I feel happy and angry about this. Might sell it and re-buy it because my current one freeze for 1 second before MG-42 nest rush scene. Nothing devastating but yeah. Should get at least 1/4 of the original price.

R2 = Region 2 (Western Europe)

Apone, those "freezes" are called layer switches. These are commonplace among DVDs.

With over 200 movies, I'm surprised to find that it's my first double dip situation worth worrying about also. I guess I'm just a very careful buyer and tend to over reasearch my purchases. If I decide to go for it, I'll probably just pass my current copy off to my father-in-law who would love it.

tan1415 you are right. There is an entire thread on this, but the bottom line is that the DTS can only be found on the 1 disc "old" release and on the 4-disc collectors edition.

yeah, i saw this for myself at BB yesterday. the stand alone SPR D-Day SE has only the DD track. you have to get the WWII Collection box set if you want the SE with a DTS track.

then you're stuck with two WWII documentary DVDs you didn't really want, just to get the DTS version. kind of a rip, if you ask me. sure, the documentaries are interesting, but forcing us to buy them just so i can have DTS sound is money grubbing. i decided to stick with the old DTS version.

OREOSpeedwagon: You should post this on the DVD Exchange forum if you are serious. I am sure that someone would be willing to take you up on your offer.
