Details for LOTR: Return of the King (TE)
From DavisDVD:
As we revealed some weeks ago, New Line Home Entertainment will release the third and final installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy - The Return of the King - on May 25th. This two-disc set, featuring the 201-minute theatrical cut, will be available in separate anamorphic widescreen and fullscreen editions, each complimented by a Dolby Digital 5.1 EX soundtrack. Over on the second disc look for a collection of behind-the-scenes featurettes, featurettes created for the lordoftherings.net (including Aragorn's Destiny, Battle of Pelennor Fields, Digital Horses, Eowyn White Lady of Rohan, Minas Tirith and Samwise the Brave), Annie Lennox "Into the West" music video, trailers and TV spots, an inside look at the extended four-disc edition of "The Return of the King" and DVD-ROM content. Retail will be $29.95. Thanks to Bill and Evan for the help.

Is the movie really gonna be squeezed onto one dual-layer disc? I hope they at least go the DVD-14 route(kinda like WB did with Doctor Zhivago).

Is anyone else kinda miffed that the fullscreen versions get the little color bar on the top while the people that buy the widescreen versions (like myself) get the crap gray? I guess the gray is classier, but I still like the color bar. I know, it's wierd.

I will buy this the day it comes out and watch it night and day until the EE comes out. Then when that comes out, I will buy the delux gift set version and watch it another 100 times. I will buy each and every version of these movies ever released on DVD.
<spoiler> Hell, I would pay top dollar for a used tampon if it had "The Lord of the Rings" written on it. </spoiler>

Well, I bought the Reg and EE of the 1st 2 movies, so I guess I will have to buy both of the ROTK DVDs sets. Can't break up a matching set.
Put out a quality product, people will buy it!

A blue case. Weird!!
Anyways, I'll prob just rent this one. I regretting buying the 1st two movies since once I got the EE's I never watched them again...so I will rent, then buy the ROTK EE.
Or so I say now.... =p
One problem maybe....won't the video quality be hurt with such a long movie on a single disc? I worry...
The EE won't have that problem, but this disc might.
