DVD storage question: locking cabinet capacity?
I'm looking to buy a large locking cabinet for my DVDs, and Hybrid Media Storage makes a very nice-looking one (OVH-0700) that has caught my eye. The problem is, I can't nail down how many discs it's going to hold...

StoreYourMedia.com lists it at 702 CDs/448 DVDs at 64"h x 23¾"w x 15"d.
But several other stores, such as The Jungle (and some sellers on Ebay) have the same model listed at 700 CD/560 DVD capacity at the exact same dimensions.
Does anyone have this cabinet and can confirm, or at least give an honest opinion of what the actual number is? It'll obviously vary a little considering double Alpha cases, box sets, and whatnot, but when the difference is over 100? I'm pretty confused. I'll bite if it's well over 500 capacity, but as my collection is at 430, give or take, right now, 448 is simply not enough room to grow.

I do not have this, but I just tried to figure it out for you from the photo. It looks like you can put 32 DVDs across and another 32 per row on the door. It looks like you can go about seven DVDs high if you adjust the shelves accordingly. Essentially 64 per row, 7 DVDs high, or 448 total by my estimation. So I am guessing that the 560 one cannot be right...

I have the one from the jungle. The lock is nothing more than a deterrent for nosey kids or thieving friends of friends. But it does serve its purposes very well.
It arrived in two ass heavy boxes and took a while to assemble.
I filled it up already and need a second.
It should be pointed out that putting more weight on the doors other than DVD's will make them sag. I found this out firsthand when I tried to store some heavy cases of nails and whatnot.

Thanks for taking the time to work that out, boc4ever.
tacomantt, so can you estimate roughly how many DVDs it took to fill the cabinet?

I have this cabinet as well. My estimate is that it holds approx 400 DVDs.
I have a suspicion that the 560 is a marketing ploy and represents 560 of the 'thin case' DVDs that you often find for example in the cheapy section at Best Buy.
I'd like something that holds more but frankly it's the highest capacity cabinet out there. I too will be likely picking up another sooner or later.
