"she collects DVD's too"
"Collects," might be too strong a word, but I have titles I keep track of release information for her, and I buy stuff she asks me to get her.
And she understood and accepted my explanations about "buying now when the deals are good" back when I first got into DVD collecting.

I checked number two by default. Although my wife is not a collector, she enjoys my DVDs, and occasionally buys one hereself, but she is not a collector.

My fiance likes having a bunch of movies to pick from to watch. I even suggested my collection was getting kinda big and I should weed out a few. She insisted I keep them all...what a great woman

My wife loves film, and watches our collection more than I do (She's not able to work at the moment). I'm glad she doesn't chastise the fact that our collection is so large, and grows all the time. I love that woman!

My wife doesnt really like it. I guess its not that she doesnt like it, she just doesnt see the point. Its cool, its "my thing" and in relationships, it isnt always good to have everything in common.

My wife enjoys most of the films I buy, though there are some that she won't watch -- anything directed by Miike, for example. My wife and I have seperate finances so she doesn't care how much I spend on DVDs.

I chose option #1, because we both enjoy our DVDs. It's not a case of "my collection" and "his collection," though. We have *our* collection. I'm lucky in that my husband and I have very similar tastes in movies, so there are really no DVDs in our collection that I like but he doesn't or vice versa. At most, one of us might like a movie slightly more than the other one likes it, but that's it.
I'm probably somewhat more the driving force in getting new DVDs (partly because I know more about what's out there, thanks to DVDTalk!) but we always agree on what to get or how much to spend.

My wife has been saying lately, "Do you think you have enough DVD's yet?" My kids, on the other hand, don't think we have enough. *sniff, I've taught them well.

My SO definitely supports my collecting; in fact, it was his idea to buy a DVD player, about six months after we got together. I had a large VHS collection I had acquired over the years, and had resisted buying a DVD player, thinking we'd never use it. Of course, I became hooked almost immediately, while my SO buys and watches DVDs occasionally, but doesn't collect them like I do. But like I said, he's totally supportive. Just another reason to be thankful this Valentine's Day.

Not having an SO means:
1) I can buy whatever movie I want.
2) I can watch movies with different people w/different tastes in genres.
3) My paychecks go to just me, so no fighting over whether that extra $20 goes to getting her nails done or Ichi the Killer SE.

My wife loves movies almost as much as I do, but she lets me do all the dvd purchasing. I have a much more varied taste in movies than she does, so I pick up a lot of movies she normally wouldn't watch and she usually enjoys them.

I picked this one "Yes, but he/she does not collect DVD's", but support is WAY too strong a word; more like "tolerates". She never says anything about it, but I know she'd prefer I spend less on them.
