I wasn't even hoping for it this year! Awesome.
(Will warner replace disks that were scratched due to poor packaging? My season 1 disks 2 and 3 have a couple of scuffs from that weird case. ??)

This is a must pickup for me.
The show with Christopher Reeve was the highlight of the season for me, and the extras look much better than the 1st season's.
Not a perfect show, but very enjoyable.

There wasn't a recall if thats what you mean. I've watched through the whole set and havn't noticed any errors or skips, but it really pissed me off that 3 of the disks were loose and had minor (but numerous) scratches.
I might still try and exchange it for a new one, i think i'm justified. I'm just afraid i'll end up with a worse set.

Just got back from target, didn't experience any problems. Took about 60 seconds. I opened the new set on the spot and all of the disks were firmly in place.
I'll be sure to give Season 2 a good shake before I checkout. Just in case.

I bought 24 and Alias blindly and now I am hooked! Does Smallville have the same effect?

I love Smallville. The characters are great, and I find that the show has more replay value than Alias and 24.
As to whether or not you should buy it blind, the choice is really up to you. While Smallville's a great show, it's significantly different from Alias and 24, so I'm not totally sure if you'll like it or not. Perhaps you could list some of your favorite movies/other TV shows to help me and others get an idea as to whether you'd like it or not.

Should we start worrying about the butchering of the Show's soundtrack on the DVD releases? I hear all this talk about Dawson's, and Roswell, and Part of Five getting their soundtracks altered from their original airing, and its making me nervous.
I hope they leave the episodes unaltered. Season 1 made me go out and buy the soundtrack. The music choices in Season 2 and Season 3 have been even better.

I had never seen a single episode of "Smallville" before it was released on DVD. I had a friend who raved about it all the time and I also met Sam Jones III ("Pete") at a Star Trek Convention. He was really, really cool and very nice. So on release date of Season One I picked it up and thought I'd just check out the picture quality, and try to watch them over the following few weeks.
As it turned out, I was so hooked so quickly, I watched the entire season in three nights, going to bed each night at 2 and 3 a.m., and then getting up at 7 to get ready for work.
This series is a definite MUST blind buy. I give it the Highest Recommendation!

Yea, I'm still waiting for the day when I see one of those WB preview commercials, and the voiceover guy with the deep voice saying "ON A VERY SPECIAL EPISODE OF S-M-A-L-L-V-I-L-L-E"
You can bet it will include the most underrated character of Smallville..........Mr. Pete Ross!!!
