Best Buy, nope.
Circuit City, nope.
Media Play, nope...but they did have the "shockumentary" unlike the above stores.
Next, I'll have to try a Borders, but I think I'm home for the night.

Since this isn't really a "mainstream" DVD release I would try Borders or Tower.
I'm shocked Virgin Megastore didn't have it. They usually have all the "non-mainstream" titles I want if Borders or Tower doesn't have it in stock.

Oddly enough, my local Target has it. It was in the 'new releases' rack, right there next to Intolerable Cruelty and Lost in Translation.

Well, I never did make it to Borders, but I did look on their website to see if Party Monster was listed as "in stock" in my area. It wasn't Is the Borders website usually pretty accurate as to whether stuff is in stock or not?

But they do occassionally under-order "non-mainstream" movies with strong followings. I remember that they sold out of 'Wet Hot American Summer' almost immediately, for instance. I believe 'Party Monster' (like 'Wet Hot') played a lot longer in NYC than anywhere else; it may have wound up that Virgin didn't order very many, but was still one of the few places in town to get it.
