Doesn't mention the cover but does talk about the specs. But a totally awesome cover.

There's also a single disc version being released on the same day.

DVD Answers has the cover art for both editions here:

Nice, but I'd prefer one with a couple weevils on the front.

Nice, definitely better than the movie. Maybe I should get it to frame. Anybody want to buy just the discs from me?

Nice looking set (the 2-disc - the single disc cover is hideous).

However, this is another "Red Dragon" type of deal, there they charge too much for the bare-bones version and then put out what *should* be the regular version as a special 2-disc set and then charge twice as much for it.

What year is this? Have we gone back in time to when two-disc regular releases weren't the standard?

No, every etailer lists both a widescreen and Pan & Scam version up.

So no worries there.

I kind of agree with you, but on the other hand, I love the fact that studios are offering really great editions to Collectors. A movie like Master & Commander would probably only get a single disc edition, with probably half the extras that will be on the CE.... it really didn't soar at the box office...but by offering the two editions, they can make more money (from those who don't care and just buy the single disc) on the title, so they are not afraid to spend a little more cash to produce a very nice deluxe edition....

I'm sure the CE won't run you that much when it's actually released, and judging by the look and content, it'll be worth it regardless. I am very much looking forward to this disc.

Why does this Collector's Edition release remind me so much of the case design New Line used for the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions?

Could it be because they are both based on books?

Just received a shipping notice from BestBuy.com today! Hope to get it on release day!

Note: Best Buy is offering an extra disc with an additional 31 minutes of behind-the-scenes content. While this is likely the "HBO First Look" special or some other promotional type of deal, it's still something to consider.

BestBuy.com's price is $29.99 for the Collector's Set.
