Places that buy back

Hi, I'm in need to sell a few DVDs, after reading about Pan and Scan, i want to get rid of a few DVDs and was wondering if there are any B&M stores that buy back DVDs. Any information would be helpful, hopefully information regarding areas in the Southern California area. Thanks in advance

I am in Tennessee, so these may or may not be where you are. Wherehouse music, Hastings, EB (in the mall), mom and pops type stores often do.

Also check online at spun.com and digital eyes (link at top of page)

Used record stores and blockbuster seem to take them in.

Just be warned - you won't get much for them.

I find that Transworld (Coconuts, I think FYE as well) give pretty decent prices on movies. If it's fairly new and popular, you're looking at around $7-8 per movie. EB will only give a nice amount for new releases. After they get old, you're looking at $2-3 each.

That's putting it mildly. You're better off going the ebay or half.com route.

The only time I visit used DVD stores is to buy. I only sell on ebay.

My local store gives $6 for most titles. Too little but I don't have to screw around with eBay and non-paying bidders. I buy at $10 then if I don't keep it, I get $6 back, basically the price of a rental. For numerous titles and not looking to trade I'd go the eBay route though.

And at least the OP realised early that the OAR releases were better. Imagine what his horror would have been like had he invested in hundreds of Pan & Scam releases.

if you live in southern california your best bet would be

-The Wherehouse
-Local record stores
- Amoeba Records in Hollywood. (I didnt check last time I went to So Cal but I'm sure you could call to see if they buyback DVDs)

If you're located in the San Diego area, I would suggest Blow Out Video in Pt Loma, Lou's in Encinitas or Second Spin in Pacific Beach.

Where are you in Southern California? I'd recommend Second Spin. They have four retail stores here. In Costa Mesa, San Diego, Santa Monica, and Sherman Oaks. www.secondspin.com has addresses for all.

Hey, thanks for the mention of some of those stores. I've been looking to get rid of some DVDs but didnt want to go the ebay route. Of the stores listed, do they simply give you store credit?
