The OFFICIAL Off-Topic, Missing Insert, "No _____, No Sale", Bitch And Moan Thread

After a highly amusing post by jough, the piles of hijacked Star Wars, LOTR, and Criterion threads, and many posts that complain about movie changes/updates, missing inserts, and general movie quality, I though that maybe we could benefit from a special thread whose sole point is to be a repository for off-topic, ranting, and/or otherwise, unconstructive posts.

The only off-topic posts that you could possible put in this thread are ones that involve well thought out, constructive, rational thoughts, opinions, and analyses on the quality of a movie and it's DVD release. Don't do it . . . you'll ruin the thread.

Perhaps we could even make it into a "sticky" thread so that nobody has to search for it if they get the "urge"?

The obligatory, "George Lucas raped my childhood." This is a ho-kicking idea.

I wish this thread luck, but bitching isn't as fun when it's taken in context.

Or nearly as funny. I was just cashing in on an opportunity to use ho-kicking in a sentence. Most of the threads in the main forum would not make it over a page or two if it were not for ranting and unconstructive posts.

People that whine about dvd's that don't have an "insert" are friggin hilarious. If you want, send me a piece of paper and I'll draw some stick figure scenes from the movie and write a chapter index and send it back to you.

Personally I never saw the point of inserts. Really what is the damn point. Who even looks at them. I mean if it is like a booklet yeah, put it in there. If it is a pic with chapters, who cares.

Dammit . . . I almost put it in the opening post but left it out. I'm really screwing up on my New Year's resolution . . .

I only hope that your efforts don't stunt the thread . . . you have now eliminated the chance of any "No ho-kicking, no sale!" posts.

Any post that involves the usage of ebonics and stream of consciousness is worthy of a seat here.

If this thread actually worked we'd only have about 18 threads on the whole of DVD talk I think....

Nice ambition, but it ain't gonna happen methinks...

Have there ever been any complaints on this website ANYWHERE about bootleg dvd's not having inserts in them? That's something I'd love to see...

For me, inserts are unnecessary if they are a chapter listing and a reprint of the cover art. If there's pretty much any additional info beyond that, then they might actually be worth something.

Like the Spike Jonze (Jonez?) dvd...now THAT's an insert.

Ah, I'm in the "inserts are useless" crowd. In my ideal world, maybe the chapter listing would be printed on the back cover of the case, but that's about all the info I want in print. Though those "Director's Series" thick booklets kick a little ass, as mentioned above.

Almost forgot: NO SQUIRREL, NO SALE. I demand a fuzzy, pink, stuffed squirrel attached to every DVD I buy, or no sale.

Can you have a threadcrap if the thread itself is crap?

Or is that a "chicken and egg" type question?

No, no, no . . . you're supposed to use the "Bitching And Moaning" thread for all of you threadcraps, not this . . . oh wait . . . that is this one . . .

Hold on . . . let me go back and look at the plans . . .

Boy is this stupid.

DVDs can be "used" for just about anything. At least, "most people" think so.

And by "most people," I mean those people who don't collect Criterions. Criterion collectors, after all, are just spine-number humpin' philistines growing fat and mindless off the marketeers' gloriously beguiling tit. They don't even qualify as people.

Tyler Durden. Now there's a man...

Let's just leave unconstructive posts completely off the forum. Maybe you guys can journal or something.
