With my wife for sweetheart day:
    1. The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982 CBS version from England staring Anthony Andrews as Sir Percy Blakeney\ScarletPimpernel, Jane Seymour as Marguerite, Ian McKellen as Chauvelin) - Much better than the A&E version

    2. Sleepless in Seattle

    Monday
  • Brewster McCloud - Altman's zaniest AFAIK. 6/10
  • Cat Ballou - The first(?) western spoof. 6/10

    Tuesday
  • The King is Alive - Great premise, but peters out. 6/10
  • The Desperate Hours - Classic Bogie. 7/10
  • Millennium Actress - Its amazing to see anime characters with pathos. 8/10

    Wednesday
  • The Wonderful, Horrible Life of Leni Riefenstahl - Fascinating glimpses of 'Olympia.' 7/10
  • The Rules of the Game w/ Commentary - It was informative but something about Bogdanovich's tone made me sleepy.
  • The Bridge - Makes my short list of best anti-war films. 8/10

    Thursday
  • Marvin's Room - Dysfunctional family movie of the week. 4/10
  • Somebody up there likes me - Some nice b&w cinematography. 7/10

    Friday
  • The Mystery of Picasso - Good idea, gets boring fast. 4/10
  • The Landlord - Just didn't buy the last act. 5/10
  • The Dreamers - Not Bertolucci's best, but recommended for all cinephiles. 7/10
  • Intolerable Cruelty - Great script, good acting, so-so in directing. 7/10

    Saturday
  • The Battle of Algiers - A film that hasn't lost its relevancy. 9/10
  • The Barbarian Invasions - I just didn't get the point - some performances were good though. 5/10
  • The Ice Storm - Adults play like children; children play at adults. 8/10

    Sunday
  • American Splendor - One of my top 5 favorite films from last year. 9/10
  • The Goodbye Girl - An average Joe/Jane romance. 7/10
  • Solaris (2002) - Sci-Fi, morality and romance in an unlikely mix. 8/10

Gonna try to get my hands on a rental copy of Lost in Translation sometime this week. If not, I'll probably watch Ben Hur again.
