Plans for custom DVD storage rack?
I was wondering if anyone had created plans for a custom DVD storage rack, and would like to share, or sell a copy?
Thanks in advance.

it helps if you identify your needs
-how many dvds do you want it to hold
-how much space do you have-
-whats your asthetic preference?
would you prefer something low and wide or thinner but floor to ceiling?
-do you want the cases exposed or would you rather have a closed cabinet?

Other than that, these are excellent. Perfect for Keep Cases, and they stack wonderfully.

Someone made a custom rack out of PVC pipe, and the plans were either on this forum, or the hardware forum.
Thank you to the designer for keeping this page up!

Tarantino, if I may ask where can one find plastic storage tubs like the ones pictured? I could use a bunch of those to store most of my DVD's which I'm embarrased to admit are presently kept in paper bags.

while Numanoid's plans are indeed the funniest thing i've seen in a while, i don't think you're going to have much luck getting "plans" from anyone. I built a shelf, and am almost done with a newer, bigger one....but the plans are all in my head and I just kind of figure it out - maybe do a quick little sketch just to keep track of how many feet of boards i need and stuff.....do a search and look through the "post pictures of your home theater" threads....people often post pics of stuff they made.....and here's a recent one from otterland....

Thanks Buck for the info - I went to 2 Kmarts today, a Target and a Walmart and none had those particular type of storage boxes, although I did find some generic Rubbermaid ones that could have worked. But I want them all to be consistent and like the look of the ones pictured, so I might just order them online.
What do you think I'm rich Brizz, cardboard boxes are way too expensive! No, actually, the sad truth is I'm just lazy and never got around to organizing my collection better...
I would like to eventually get one or two large DVD racks to keep upstairs out of view, but there are space issues. For now I'd at least like to move most of my collection into plastic bins so I can move them around, store them away, etc.
Here's a pic of how they are presently kept:
Embarassing but true

These are upstairs in my bedroom. I have more stored this way in my closet. My favorite DVD's are displayed in the living room with an inexpensive shelving unit bought from Home Depot.
