I'm pretty well covered. but even with a rabid collection...I have a few gaps to fill. I may have 15 or so Franco titles, but I need about 15 more. I also am in need of a few more Andy Milligan films. most of my true favs though...are under control and if not complete, close to it. when it comes to lacking....there are some genres within my library that need some feeding. far from complete are nunsploitation, swashbuckling and various exploitation flicks from Something Weird. I'm also low on imports, although I'm only buying now what I really need and cant or wont ever get here. I have been keeping my Malata region free player on a lite diet of late, but there are about 10 discs I need over the next few months. but as far as my fav actors or directors....I'm stocked up decent.

Over 300 DVDs & I'm proud & happry to say not one DVD with Tom Hanks in it. Not missing any DVDs with him though, just will never buy one if he is in it.
Also nothing with Julia Roberts, or Denzel Washington will ever find it's way into my DVD collection.

Even at 650 titles, I am missing many films that I want to see... I don't have a single Kurosawa film, for example.

Plus I think the 'Toy Story' movies are brilliant.

Re: Denzel ... eh, I'm not much of a Spike Lee fan. I might buy 'Devil in a Blue Dress' someday, though.

Great directors missing from my collection:
Griffith
Eisenstein
Lang
Keaton
von Stroheim
Cukor
Ophuls
Bresson
Hawks (this is astounding to me)
Mann (Anthony and Delbert, but not Michael)
Mizoguchi (not that many of his films are available)
Boetticher
von Sternberg
Rosselini
Erice
Kusturica
Ichikawa
Bertolucci
And on and on...
I don't really give a shit one way or the other about actors. They are practically meaningless to me.

As far as Julia Roberts, I had Michael Collins briefly (sold it) and Step Mom (it came with the DVD player I bought) which I couldn't give away (would up trading in to a store).
I would like to have more John Wayne (I only have 1) films. But I refuse to buy anything unless the quality is good.

MYSTIC PIZZA gets Julia a pass. I also liked her in SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT, with Dennis Quaid and Robert Duvall.
Denzel gets his invite from MALCOLM X (I also have TRAINING DAY and A SOLDIER'S STORY, but I might trade those off...)...

Not missing, but I would like more Scorsese. There would have to be decent editions of his best films for me to really accomplish that.
I don't have Last Temptation, which is on me, but the lack of quality DVDs for Goodfellas (I have the current, strictly filler), Mean Streets and Raging Bull is a disgrace.

Of Guzzlefish 100 most collected actors, I have them all.
I actually don't own anything by Denzel Washington, but not because of some hatred of him. It just has worked out that way--I like a few of his movies (including Glory, Mo' Better Blues, Malcolm X, Philadelphia) but haven't gotten around to purchasing any yet. Julia Roberts I like and have a couple of movies, same with Tom Hanks.
Of the most collected Directors on GFish (not a measure of quality, obviously) I'm missing quite a few:
Jay Roach (Not interested)
Michael Bay (none of his either)
Gore Verbinski (I may buy the Ring sometime)
Frank Darabont (rumors of new Shawshank have stopped me from buying it so far)
John Hughes (maybe 16 candles)
Curtis Hanson (sooner or later I'll get LA Conf and Wonder Boys)
Todd Philips (who?)
Dennis Dugan (I may buy Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison someday)
Tom Shadyac (yuck, what a craptastic list of movies).
There are lots of great directors I'm missing (as opposed to this list, which is mostly hacks).

How the hell is it possible to not have a Harrison Ford or Steven Speilberg movie even if your collection was only 1 DVD?
