What happend to night of the comet?
Night of the Comet - I heard this movie was supposed to hit disc about 2 months ago but I never saw anything about it. Does anyone have the 411? Thanks.

Well I am sure PFE was faced with a lawsuit or something to prevent them from illegally releasing the film, since they do not hold the rights to it or any of the other films they have released. They are a bootleging company & a rather shitty one at that!
So best to just wait for a legit quality release. Blue Underground is releasing The Final Countdown next month, which previously was bootleged by PFE on a rather shitty disc. So there is hope of another company legally acquiring this awsome film

I think the original release was going to be fullscreen barebones. I'm not sure about the OAR but bareboning it (heh) would've hurt (double "heh").
Knowing it's in MGM's hands makes me a lot more comfortable.

Is that true? My old VHS is CBS/Fox. The movie was distributed in the theaters by 20th Century Fox and Atlantic Releasing Corporation and Paramount distributed it for TV.

As you know, ATTIC, ALPHABET CITY, NOMADS, EXTREMETIES , TEEN WOLF, ECHO PARK, ROADHOUSE 66, STORMY MONDAY , VALLEY GIRLS are now on MGM DVD, so it is inevitable they own COMETS, as well as GARBAGE PAIL KIDS.

My friend used to own a badly worn tape copy of Night of the Comet. It was cheesy, but I loved it! It was the perfect midnight movie for a sleepover. Hope to see it on DVD soon enough!
