What's the most through Documentary on 9/11 & is it on DVD?

I know there have been several, and I'm interested in what has been perceived as the most in depth of the bunch. Of those released on DVD, which goes into the most detail of the engineering aspects of why the collapse occurred, etc?

I guess there has even been a TV movie on the tragedy. What is the forum's opinion on that effort?

Much obliged for any info or review links that can be provided.

There was an ABC special that has been broadcast a couple of times that went into a pretty detailed analysis of the collapse, but I'm not sure if it's on DVD.

There is a DVD out called Anatomy of a Collapse. It's from The Learning Channel. And DDD has it for $7.97 shipped.

9/11 - The Filmmakers' Commemorative Edition is fantastic and haunting. Highess recommendation. Doesn't go at all into the physics behind the collapse, but for human drama, it cannot be beaten.

Thanks for your insights... All these recomendations are just what I was looking for and much appreciated. I'll check out Anatomy of a Collapse and the CNN Tribute, especially.

Frontline has consistantly done the absolute best programming on 9/11 and the aftermath. You can now watch some on-line now too! It is, in my opinion, the best show on television.

I haven't got my free one either.

And this is weird because I was just thinking last night that I've had a little time, and I wanted to revisit the whole thing. I think I'll definitely check out some of these.

I believe "What we Saw" has Bryant Gumbel and then Dan Rather. From a review: The DVD opens with Dan Rather and a CBS News special report, including clips of Bryant Gumbel on the phone with eyewitnesses five minutes after the first crash. Among the dedicated CBS reporters covering the tragedy was Carol Marin, who fled the WTC collapse and continued uptown to the CBS News studio, still covered in dust and debris when she went on the air with Rather. Equally memorable is Ed Bradley's lengthy video coverage of the "thousands of volunteers who were drawn by an overwhelming urge to help" in the rescue efforts.

The CNN DVD has a lot of footage from their newscast and the days following.

9-11 Documentary

I don't know about in-depth, but "9/11" is a great special. Made by two French brothers following a rookie firefighter through probation, they were just outside one of the towers and the camera looked up just in time to see the first plane crash into the building. Then the camera follows the firefighters to the temp. HQ set up in one of the twin towers and was actually in the building when it collapsed.

The film covers life before, during and after 9/11 from the perspective of firehouse closest to the twin towers. It was shown on CBS before being released to DVD.
