Rod Serling Submitted For Your Approval - will it be separately re-released?

I missed it when recently played on PBS. Any news on a re-release?

I didn't even realize that this was out-of-print. Sure looks like it, though. At the very least, it's out of stock at every major retailer.

I asked Image about this a while back, and was told "no".

Yes, thats included with the 40th anniversary DVD set.

A great show. I still have it on tape from when it aired a few years back and have watched it many times. Stylishly done and very informative with some great interviews.

Guys,

Get your tails over to dvdplanet.com. They have it in stock for $12.97. It says 'low stock' so hurry. --Edward

I was lucky enough to get a used copy real cheap about a year and a half ago. Back then it was out of production for sure. I tried every site I could think of to get a new copy. In addition, I have checked on and off over that time to see what people were getting for it and I never saw it available new.

I seriously doubt those two sites actually have it in stock but it's worth a shot.

Definitely a must have for Twilight Zone / Rod Serling fans though. Excellent DVD.

reservoirdog,

This is what it says on the back of the dvd case.

"Imagine if you will, a young boy with a monstrous imagination. A lad whose fascination with sci-fi magazines and high school drama kindled a spark that would ignite into one of the brightest creative minds of this century. A young boy by the name of Rod Serling. Embark on a fascinating tour of the life of Rod Serling in this "American Masters" special. Learn the fascinating story of how television's most esteemed and popular writer outwitted stifling sponsor censorship by creating a series devoted entirely to fantasy stories--"The Twilight Zone." While censors looked elsewhere, Serling skillfully wrote "fanciful" tales that dealt with controversial issues of the day. Extensive interviews with key figures such as John Frankenheimer, Jack Klugman, Kim Hunter and Buck Houghton provide a detailed portrait of the man whose innovative work changed the course of television history."

Dvdplanet.com now shows the dvd as 'out of stock'. I hope you guys got one before they sold out. Later. --Edward
