Allan Quatermain and King Solomon's Mines - any good?

I'm not asking if the movies are any good. I know they are terrible - but they're a 'so bad they're good' terrible. Thus - I must have them. 'Sides, I need to complete my Cannon Films collection!

No, I mean about the quality of the discs? Being an MGM cheapie, I cant imagine that it's anything more than a barebones+trailer release. That's fine - if the disc looks good.

Anyone have these? Anyone seen any reviews yet?

Save your money these movies suck! These are the MGM bare bones with no extras except the trailer. Unless you are interested in watching a pre-Basic Instinct Sharon Stone, I don't recommend these films at all. These films are a total rip-off of Indiana Jones films.

Yeah - I know that the movies suck ass. I intend to put them proudly next to my Chuck Norris masterpiece Invasion USA and the wonderfuly bad American Ninja. I intend to get a huge hunk of Golan/Globus cheese when I buy the discs. That's never been in question.

I just wanted to confirm how good/bad the discs are.

All I can say is that I used to own the Japanese laser disc versions of these films. Looked ok, sounded excellent. Incredibly stupid movies, but I gotta have 'em too who cares what films were ripped off.

Does anyone know if they'll be letterboxed properly since they are panoramic widescreen films?

They are indeed in widescreen - but only Quartermain is anamorphic - for some odd reason the "slightly better" first film only widescreen. But it does look nice though.
