Where do you track your DVD collection?
Over the years my DVD collection has grown and shrunk (mostly grown) so keeping track of what I own can be kind of a pain somethimes. I know there are different sites out there that will let you post your collection online. Some want a yearly fee.
I'm currently using DVD Tracker to host my collection but have briefly seen others. I thought it best to get feedback before I renew my account for yet another year.
Thanks in advance.

I think most people here use www.dvdprofiler.com, which is free. They do have a premium paid version but I don't find the upgrade necessary because I don't need super hi-res cover scans.

Use DVD Profiler and pay for the premium version. It is only a $25.00 one-time fee. It allows high resolution cover scans, removal of banner ads from the program, downloading of Beta versions, and unlimited upload capacity. If you can afford a DVD collection large enough to need a database, you can afford the premium version.

I personally like guzzlefish - almost done adding all the collection, may finish this weekend, but it has some issues. There is supposed to be a major upgrade coming very soon though.

I use 3 sources.
DVD Profiler - great for in-depth information. Has nice extras like being able to track where / when you purchased something, how much you paid, the order in which you built your collection.
Guzzlefish - base information only, and they have their flaws (like the Indiana Jones boxed set not showing up in their database for a couple months with only BS excuses given), but they also allow for tracking your CD collection.
However, there are times that an item doesn't appear in either database. Since Guzzlefish requires you to submit a scan with a new item (I am one of the few that does not have a scanner), and I can't figure out for the life of me how to contribute a new profile to DVD Profiler, I have a back-dated entry in my online journal that lists my entire collection, and I update it every so often.
It only takes 10 minutes to update all 3, and this way I know that if one goes down, my collection is already entered in 2 other places.

DVD Profiler for me. Amazing program, and doesn't require you to be online to use the program.
Allows you to keep an online version, personal notes, purchasing information and statistics up the yin yang.
Definately upgrade to the Premium Edition. $25 is well worth it.
Good luck!

I use DVDAficionado, and a custom report (sorted chronologically) at DVDTracker.
BTW, JoserJerr, when I try to view your collection, it says "File Not Found".

DVD Sanctuary
I use DVD Sanctuary. I have tried the premium version of DVD Profiler and wanted something more flexible and easier to use.
This could be considered the beta version; it is fully functional, it just doesn't have too many options yet. It pulls the information and images directly from Amazon.com when you enter the "ASIN" of a DVD.
There is much more work to be done, but it would be great if some people could check it out and offer some suggestions/criticism so I can make it better from the beginning.
Thanks,
Jake

Personally, I do not like having to install a program to update my library from a different computer. If I'm at work and think of a DVD I want to add to my wishlist, I will forget it by the time I get home.
Anyway, thanks for taking a look.

I use Aficionado. Tried Guzzlefish for a little while because I like their stats feature, but got tired of incorrect listings, missing titles, and a lack of other region discs. Some of the features in Profiler appeal to me but I really dislike the layout on there.

Guzzlefish has had some problems with missing lists and incorrect data in the past, but they seem to be straightening things out now and are planning to make some major upgrades soon.
They're free, easy to use, and have the best interface of any of the competition I've tried (I just hate DVD Profiler's look).

I used to use DVD Profiler, but it was too slow using a dial up connection at home. Now I just use a spreadsheet. I can enter the information so much faster and keep track of the things that are important to me.
