Sorry I did look around to see if I could find the answer to my question before I posted. but i didn't find anything...
Thank you so much for your help!

Region 1 refers to DVDs that are playable / sold in the United States and Canada. They are also compatible with our NTSC televisions.
Asian imports may / may not work on your DVD player or TV set. We'll need to more information from you to assist further.

Here's the scenerio, I'm debating on bidding for the sex and the city series. The problem is it seems to good to be true. the price is low for 5 seasons. so i emailed the seller because I'm wondering if they are bootlegs. He emailed me back and told they are orginal asian imports. I'm skeptical because I would think if they are imports then they would not be region 1. But I have absolutely no clue because I'm not like my bf.. I just buy.. :-)

Sounds like bootlegs. Do you know where they are from (country)? Once we know that then we can see if they're compatible with your Region 1 DVD player (Most likely they won't be). If they're Region 0, they're probably boots.

Better off getting the Region 1 sets here:
http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2....PROD_ID=559501
or here:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...615783-1508158
or Costco been having some good prices:

These will work with your Region 1 player.

says region 1 delivered from philippines.. so my gut instinct is prob. right... bootlegs......
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback......
Even though it's cheaper then buying all five seasons here.. I would hate to spend that much money and then they turn out to be bootlegs.
