Interested in a video game cover site?
Since people have asked before and everyone said no, I was thinking of starting one myself. I am no cover expert by any means, but I think I did a few good ones. I am getting better. Anyway, there are just a lot of DVD and CD based game covers I want to replace. I work in a video game store and have a friend that knows Japanese, so that would help me a bit. I don't know the first thing about making a web site though, if anyone wants to help, great. I would like it to be more like dvdcoverart.com (300 dpi high quality covers only) than like cdcovers.cc.
Here are some of my ideas:
REPLACEMENT COVERS
Shikigami (Shikigami no Shiro, Mobile Light Force 2, PS2)
replace this absolutly horrible cover with a translated Japanese version cover
Gunbird (Mobile Light Force, PS1)
replace this absolutly horrible cover with a translated Japanese version cover
Resident Evil series (GCN)
custom covers with matching spines and backs, complete custom for part 1 (as I found on the internet), also movie, Wesker's Report
Sega GT 2002/ Jet Set Radio Future (Xbox)
better cover showing both titles on the front
Star Wars: The Clone Wars/ Tetris Worlds (Xbox)
better cover showing both titles on the front
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition (GCN)
custom for this with the Ocarina of Time disc included
Sonic Mega Collection (GCN)
custom removing the "includes 7 games" on the cover, adding extra box art to the back, for the hidden games;
second version for the Japanese version with it's 2 extra games
Sonic Mega Collection 2 (Sonic DX, GCN)
custom cover showcasing the Game Gear games, rather than the main game.
Nintendo Entertainment System Classics (Animal Crossing, GCN)
custom cover showcasing the NES games, rather than the main game;
2nd version for the Japanese version, with it's 2 alternate games
Namco Museum (all systems)
Custom cover including the hidden games
House of the Dead 2 & 3 (HotD3, Xbox)
showing that there are actually 2 games in here
Panzer Dragoon & Panzer Dragoon Orta (Xbox)
showing that there are actually 2 games in here
BMX XXX (all systems)
using the much better PAL cover I found on the net
Prince of Persia (all systems)
showing the bonus game(s)
Star Wars: Rouge Squadron III: Rebel Strike (GCN)
showing the bonus games
Game Boy Player Startup Disc (GCN)
custom for this in a full size DVD case
Japanese GameCube games converted to the bigger DVD-size cases and translated into English, for games not released in the US yet, like:
Mr. Driller: Drill Land
Nintendo Puzzle Collection
Shikigami II

DVD Talk Special Edition
Well I have a different idea, but I to am gonna make a site that's devoted to PC game covers. The main reason is that I hate the bulky boxes they come in. Sometimes the CD just comes in a paper sleeve ala Halo PC. I already made some conversions and they turned out great. There is a site devoted to X-box covers. Can't remember the name. Xboxcovers.net or something.
