But people bought the Lord of the Ring movies, and those are only 1/3 of the big movie. So with 1/2 of Kill Bill, we're getting more!
So true!

I for one thought the split worked well, as i was plenty satisfied at the end of Vol. 1. Even if your "logic" holds, why would someone want to buy half a movie? Because they really want to see that half again. Duh.

Because they will make you buy KILL BILL separately and then hose you with the "put-back-together" edition.

LOTR was always intended as 3 separate films, as well as 3 separate DVD releases. there is no word on any comprehensive set with one 12 hour film (which would cost about $60). New Line said in advance, at least, that there would be 2 releases for each film.

KB, on other hand, was intended as 1 film. also, QT said he would like to do a huge 3-disc set of it. so why buy the inferior version? (unless you cant wait bc you loved it so much)

IMO, KB felt like it lasted just an hour. i woulda enjoyed three hours of raw violence.

I can't wait for this DVD. I honestly think the split worked out great. A three hour movie of this type of material would not have gone over well for many people, nor would it have stayed true to the movies this pays homage to. A three hour B movie grindhouse flick? That's not really what they were. And while it surely was partly a financial decision, I'd much rather have all of Kill Bill than a chopped 2 and a half hour version.

I don't know, I felt completely satisfied at the end of Kill Bill. The only thing I don't like is the fact that we won't have access to the Japanese cut. Seamless branching Quentin!!! And I'm half asian so i need both!!!
