Conan: The Complete Quest

Anyone know if this boxset contains the collector's edition of Conan: The Barbarian, or if it is a new disc?

Thanks, appreciate the info.

I don't know the answer, however I'm really sick of all these reissues of Arnold titles, and yet there isn't one release of Red Sonja, I couldn't care less about True Lies SE, or Predator SE.........give me Red Sonja in Widescreen!

Germany has a nice widescreen version of Red Sonja with English soundtrack and trailer. Get a Malata (or other region-free player), and you're all set!

I had the same question. It has the commentary and the making of on it, so it looks to be the collector's one.

It is a 2 disc, the newer Collectors Edition for the first and the crappy version for the second film. I wish we could get a Destroyer SE soon.

Please tell me you are joking, and are not the Blasphemer that you appear to be. Red Sonja was EASILY the worst of Arnold's movies (and it wasn't really an Arnold movie anyway).....oh, wait a minute, I forgot about Junior.

Say what you will dude, but look at it like this, all of Arnold's other movies are out on dvd except for Red Sonja, even The Villian is out........Hercules In New York even!

I personally think the film is great for what it is, its alot better than Conan The Destroyer IMO!

So whoever owns the rights, step up to the plate and dish out a nice entree of Red Sonja..........if you don't, I'll be forced to thrash you!

Are you sure? Or is it just the Conan: The Complete Quest that has a non-anamorphic for Destroyer. I had both movies before this digipack came out and they are both anamorphic. Wish I had known there was a digipack coming out though. Takes up less space and both for 14.99. Ah well, live and learn.

Not if you have the Region 1 versions. The sequel is not anamorphic in R1.

And remember, the 1st conan movie has two different versions. the original ending of the movie is only available on the first release of the DVD. The special edition has changed the ending.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082198/alternateversions

The first R1 DVD release has the US theatrical cut of the film, while the newer R1 Special Edition DVD adds some deleted scenes and features the longer/alternate international version (130 minutes). There are 4 minutes of additional scenes in the DVD Chapter "Doom's Day" involving the Princess (Valerie Quennessen) where she is shown with Conan entering Doom's Mountain and watching as Conan confronts and kills Thulsa Doom and burns the palace. Conan is later seen to lead her by the hand and then carrying her away. The last sentence of Conan's "A King by his own hand" silent text ending "but that is another story" has been changed to read "And this story shall also be told" and includes a voice over by Mako (Akiro)
