except when the cover is so bad it repulses buyers...
Or when the movie is so bad it repulses buyers.

this thread has gone to crap. if you don't like matrix why even bother posting. this is NOT a discussion of the movie itself, it's about the SPECS.

I got rid of the first two movies of this trilogy in the expectations of a boxset being released. Don't know the info on it yet, but I would at the very least hope for an extra DVD of behind the scenes, etc.

Agreed.

I've never clicked into a Mummy Returns cover thread and decided that I'll trash the movie....I have no interest in the film, therefore, I don't go into the thread.

Sounds like good specs, I liked this movie way better then Reloaded. I have mixed feelings about the coverart. Good colors but weird layout.

Some people do. Some are into collecting DVDs kind of like collecting sports cards (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I buy movies I like, rather than collecting DVDs so I could care less. The DVD is going to be sitting CD ways on a shelf where I can't see the cover art 99% of the time anyway.

That's said, the DVD looks great features wise. I'm a little dissapointed that it's not due out until April 6 as I missed this one in the theaters. I have pretty low expectations for it as I though Reloaded was merely ok, but I'll still pick it up to have all 3.

I hope they will re-release Matrix (or even better, SE) in keepcase so that all three would look good together!

I could see the Matrix box set out for maybe Xmas 2004.

One cover for all 3 movies. They could do a simple cover like "THE MATRIX TRILOGY", in green writing on a black backround. Simple.

Who knows. I give up on the Matrix after the 3rd film. =p

This version has a header at the top of it.....and the art still sucks. But I don't care...I don't buy the dvd for the art, I buy it for the movie (which is exactly why I won't be buying this!).

Just shift Neo and Trinity to the right and stick in Morpheus on the left.
that is nice. the cover in the first post is the first time ive ever seen a cover and said "wtf?"

usually i just dont care but that was bad.

There are people on this board who can do better graphics work. Maybe WB can hire one of them?

I didn't hate Revolutions, and thought it was kind of brilliant in its own way, but it's brilliant in the way that side-steps how they just didn't have any ideas for the sequels.

I'll be picking this up and will enjoy watching it again, although I doubt this will get as many repeat viewings as the first one, or the second.

Maybe they think since they are doing a big SE set one day they don't have to wow us with this cover. =p

I've decided to break down and get both Matrix sequels now. Hopefully we'll have some good deals (2 for $25)

Glad to see they've done right by this disc. I'm looking forward to the special features more than the feature itself.

Is there a "bigger" release planned for Revolutions like is rumored for Reloaded? Although it's nice to hear that 1 disc was left mainly for video on this release.

QuiGon (are you being sarcastic?)

i'm sure their will be eventually (next yr?) but not having heard a thing so far, do we really think their will be one out in Nov or Dec?

I remember one comment by Joel Silver that seemed to hint at a bigger release, but that it wouldnt be anytime soon.

confirms the box set is being worked on:

Matrix Box Set
We are currently in development on over one dozen hours of new material for this upcoming collectors edition release. This expanded edition of discs will include detailed documentaries on the philosophy and science behind the Matrix scripts as well as a look at the history of action cinema. EMP is also creating a densely layered documentary package estimated at nine total hours using footage that has not been seen in the other Matrix releases.
