It'll be on another web site, and I'll post the link to it here (in this very thread!).
So, Jerry, how long are you going to be listed as a "New Member," and have you patched things up with Jason and Julia-Louis yet?

OK I'll bite.
1. LotR: Fellowship of the Ring EE - Just an incredible movie with great picture quality and great extras. I would have gladly payed twice as much for it.
2. Looney Tunes Golden Collection - This set was handled with so much care and treated with a level of respect that we can only hope other great cartoons receive. The extras were stellar, and was the restoration.
3. LotR: Two Towers EE - Another great installment. Jackson has done such a great job on these that I want to put the Return of the King EE on this list now.
4. Alien Quadrilogy
5.Pirates of the Carribean - Great dvd treatment for a "Summer Blockbuster". Nice Extras ,pic quality, and fun comms. The movie itself is bound to be a classic (at least where I'm concerned).
6. The Blue Planet dvds - Just an incredible documentary that any person who is slightly interesting in the mysteries of the ocean should see. Geezus, I sound like a pitch man.
7. About A Boy - I just love this movie.
8. Pitch Black - Again, its just a movie that I love to bits. I think its underated.
9. Finding Nemo - Excellent treatment for a "kids" movie.
10. Wit - This movie makes the list soley on content alone. Few movies have moved me the way this one has.
My list was composed of stuff I've seen. I have no doubt that there are dvd's out there that could kick the patuzies out of some of mine.

Quick list . . . gotta get it in in time.
1) LOTR - FOTR:EE (Gift Set) - Phenomenal release . . . set the bar for how it should be done from now on.
2) LOTR - TTT:EE (Gift Set) - Upheld the tradition of excellence of set by it's younger brother.
3) The Stanley Kubrick Collection - An awesome collection of movies with an outstanding documentary to boot.
4) Alien Quadrilogy - The best treatment of a series to date. Also landmark for thoroughness of movie versions.
5) Band Of Brothers - Hands down, the best war production. The set is attractive and very full of additional information. One of the most valued releases in my collection.
6) The Ultimate Toy Box - Two fantastic (and breakthrough) movies with a whole extra disc dedicated to showing where the magic came from.
7) Black Hawk Down (3-Disc) - Excellent release . . . rivals the LOTR releases for completeness and background information on the movie. Would be ranked higher if the movie was as groundbreaking as some of the others above it.
8) Tron - 20th Anniversary - One of the earliest in-depth treatments of an "older" movie. Also ranked highly for the importance that the film has in the sci-fi movie genre and the quality of the special features in their ability to detail its creation.
9) Indiana Jones Trilogy - A great, classic action trilogy with a very strong treatment to back it up.
10) Back To The Future Trilogy - Similar to the IJ Trilogy. Great for its treatment of of a great 80's series. Unfortunately (or maybe not), it will quickly fall off of the list next year.
That was really hard and, not to belittle the movies that I've listed, I think it really demonstrates the poor release quality of movies overall. There are a lot of better movies out there that could easily knock a number of these selections off of the list if only they would be given a better release by the studios. It's sad really . . .

My list would include some non-R1 titles but since noone else is going to vote for Japanese concert dvds I think I'll just stick to region 1
01. Life of Brian Criterion
02. Babylon 5 season sets (Season 3 if I have to choose one)
03. Amelie
04. Lotr: Fotr EE
05. Brazil Criterion
06. Futurama season sets (Season 2, although I prefer season 3, which is not out in R1 yet)
07. Farscape season 1 (although R2 Season 3 limited editions are better)
08. Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
09. UHF
10. Homicide season 1
TTT:EE should probably be there, but I haven't actually looked at it yet...

The final site will be up on 15 February 2004, with a link posted in this very thread.
I'm going to bed and won't tally the final votes until tomorrow afternoon, so I guess you should keep 'em coming until then.
