is the Uncut version of Gia on dvd?
I see a number of sellers on ebay claiming to have an uncut region 2 copy of Gia on dvd. Is this a legit release or is this probably a bootlegged transfer of the vhs to dvd?
Thanks for the help!

Well, I know for sure that there's not a Region 1 uncut version, but I'm not too sure about the validity of the Region 2 disc. From what I've heard, I don't think they've released the uncut version on dvd anywhere. I would guess that's probably a bootleg transfer from the vhs, but then again I could be wrong. Maybe someone in the Region 2 area (or an Angelina Jolie fanatic) can give a definate answer on that.

well here's the R2 version that sells in most R2 countries(Scandinavia and England if I am not mistaken). But to tell you the truth I am not sure it is uncut. Running time is 119 (PAL) and the uncut is 126 (NTSC)...so do you your math:

I can confirm that the Japanese NTSC R2 is uncut, unrated version.
I have it.

Basically it is the original version released on cable. The R version was made for video for such crappy conversative partypoopers like Blockbuster & Wal-Mart. So they hack out all the good stuff(which is actually well filmed/edited & serves a purpose other than exploitation which it is not!) in order to get an R rating since the MPAA views nudity far worse than violence.

Actually, at 2500 yen, the DVD is rather inexpensive by Japan standards. (but as usual, the postage is the killer)
