LotR TT outer box, problem with Glue! Can you help?

Hi all,

I just got my LotR Two Towers 4 discer today. The box had a covering sheet on the back, with the special features listed etc. This was simply a piece of promo paper stuck on the back for people in-store to see what they are buying

So I removed the shrinkwrap, and started to gently peel off the back sheet. It was well stuck!!! Once it has come off, it's left a thick gluey paste on the top of the box, and the back.

What can I do to remove this? I really don't want to damage the cardboard case these DVDs come in.

Anyone else have this problem? If so, what did you do??

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for your help

Chris

Believe it or not, there has already been a relatively long thread about this very topic. Actually I think there were two, but this was the better one.

Good luck!!

I feel your pain. I think it's a problem with the cases made in Canada or at least the stickers that have French on them. The US only ones seem to just slip off easily.

It look me a LONG time to get the crap off, but GOO GONE did it eventually.

A pain tho.

Brilliant! Thanks. I did try a search, as I had an inkling that this had been discussed! I'll try some of those tips, but won't combine the lighter fluid and heat gun

Exactly like what I experienced. I also got the Canadian TTT EE a while ago and it was such a pain to remove that thing off the case, while I've seen someone opening the seal of US version of TTT EE, and the sheet comes off without any adhesives.
