Alien individual 2-Disc sets already out...

I know that a lot of people were holding off on the Quadrilogy because they were waiting for the individual sets to be released. Well, I was just in my local FYE, and they already have the 2-Disc sets of Alien, Aliens, and Alien Resurrection out on the shelves (didn't see Alien 3). They're each in a nice looking digipack that I thought were really classy (I would much rather have them in each in the individual digipacks than in that never-ending Quadrilogy box). On the back, there's pictures of both discs and the artwork is different than in the Quad (which makes sense since the Quad is one set).

Keep an eye out if you're looking for them, you might find them out somewhere.

Saw them for $19.99 in Austin, Texas @ Best Buy at the corner of Mopac and 290.

I was hoping these would be in those slim double cases like the Star Wars Ep 1 and 2 sets. That way I could just slip 2 and 3 into my Legacy box and sell off the old ones.

I don't suppose the digipacks are small enough to do that are they?

If only the boxset had digipaks. I hate having to set my thing on an empty park bench to open it.

That is the ONLY reason I'm waiting for the individual releases.

I saw discussion about these on another forum, and someone said the packages are a little smaller than most digipacks, and closer to keepcase size. Did any of you who saw them pick them up or at least notice if they were the same size as a regular case?

thanks

I was holding out for the individual releases of 1 and 2 but seeing the quadrilogy at Costco for $42 it was a no-brainer to purchase the set. I would have spent that much on the first two.

Yeah, the digipacks did seem slimmer to me, much closer to the size of a keepcase than most.

I'd like to know if it's a possibility for me to try and get Fox to send me cases for my Alien dvd's. I bought Quadrilogy and upon opening 2 of the plastic casings were loose. I think the packaging is completely ridiculous....I did not do the necessary research on the set and should I have realized the packaging was the way it is I would not have purchased it. I figured there would be slim cases in there.... I'm thinking now that there would be no way Fox would send me the cases though, I'm sure they would think I only needed them because I had burned copies or something.

Anyone want to do a trade? I'll give you all my quadrilogy discs minus the final extra one (but will include the packaging for everything) plus 20 dollars in exchange for the single case releases.

E-mail me at [email protected] if you are interested.

They might.

A couple of years ago I sent a snail mail letter to Artisan politely complaining about the "Ice Pick" case for the director's cut of Basic Instinct. A few weeks later, I received the keepcase with the director's cut cover art from them.

I had the same problem with mine. Opened it up and 3 of the casings were loose. I pushed them back down around the edges and they've held on so far. But I'd much rather have the digipacks.

I tried to get cases from fox and they said they do not do this because people only want cases for bootlegs.

I saw 1 and 2 at Wal-Mart last night, 19.99 each. I was tempted to pick them up so I didn't have to clear the whole table to open the regular box set up.

Yes, the cover art and case looks sweet. All I want is Alien....hopefully, I can find it less than 19.99 somewhere; otherwise it's Columbia House.

I can understand people who dont want all 4 films to just get the movies they want with these releases...but I would still rather have the Quad set...its just goregous...and I did have one of the lil plastic cases come off...ahhh...the wonders of superglue

Whats the deal with the number on the side of the individual cases?

Fox is taking a page from Criterion and putting spine numbers on their 2 disc sets. There are people who buy every Criterion release just so they can have all the numbers, so I guess Fox is hoping people will do the same for their numbered DVDs.
