and on the issue of bootlegs..who cares if a bootleg is good or bad quality..just stay away from them altogether. There is no point in making a bootlegger wealthy. Maybe someone should inform Amazon if they really do have people selling bootlegs through there.

The Right Stuf catalog is one of the best catalogs I have ever seen, enjoyable even if you aren't going to buy anything.
Re: Bootlegs. The more bootlegs that are bought, the less incentive the 'real' anime publishers have to buy the rights to, localize, and publish anime that's currently not available over here; the more non-anime fans who will buy bootlegs unknowingly and think 'This writing sucks, anime sucks.'

Hey all , I have a few questions about whats look to be bootleg anime dvd .
I saw at eBay a Gundam Wing plus the movie package for something like 50$ , the set is about 7 dvd's , I think its imported from Hong-Kong but it dosen't have any extras in it , so I want to know if its worth buying it cause it has english voices and not japanesse voices with enlish fan subtitles.
Thanks

Why is it perceived as "OK" to buy bootleg anime? If this thread was about movies people would be having a heart attack and it would be closed already.
Buy the legit versions. Most bootlegs are not good quality anyway. You do NO good at all buying a bootleg, ESPECIALLY if it is a title licensed already and released in the US.

I can understand downloading fan subs before u.s. Distribution kicks in, but for all heavens sakes. why are you BUYING them after that? if you need to see it before you buy it blockbusters anime section has grown a bit, just rent it and then decide. I could never see the logic in paying for the bootlegs. You might aswell get the legit release.
