Are we going by movie or dvd? I dont see how Spirited Away with its lack of extras and edge enhancement could beat out a 4 disc Dances With Wolves or T2 Extreme Edition.

I don't see how anything could compete with Alien Quadrilogy. It is one of the finest DVD releases ever both in terms of quantity and quality of material. It blows away all competition.

Man, I just realized what a GREAT quarter it was for DVD releases. I'll have to give it to Alien Quadrilogy myself. Two Towers Extended was amazing, but it wasn't as groundbreaking and meticulous as the Quad.

Alien Quad. No other single release or boxed set from this year can match it for quality and the sheer amount of extras it contains.

A great trilogy of releases at near bargain prices and more features than Criterions. This was my Christmas gift to me.

I voted Alien Quadrilogy as it is the best DVD release but if the poll was for best DVD release for a single film then LOTR:TT-EE would be the easy winner!

I haven't delved too deeply into the Alien quadrilogy yet so I'm going to have to go with the Fassbinder box which brought some great films to light in beautiful presentations and extras which were presented with a deep appreciation for the director.

Alien Quad indeed rocks. but I'll go for The Mondo Cane Collection from BU...because it needs a little love.
