I always put in the wrong side and I hate that. Perhaps justified on season sets or in multi-title bargain releases (such as upcoming Abott and Costello) but not for a single movie. In my opinion, this movie in particular deserves better treatment and using DVD-18 is a bad decision.

I'm really looking foward to this I've not seen the movie in a long while I know when I see it again on DVD it will be a experience.

as far as it being on 2 disks or 2 sided - don't really care but if you look at the gift set there is 2 discs pictured althougth that could be the sountrack CD - damn Universal just confirm what it is.

Yeah, maybe the digipack is for a 2-disc version. I can't think of anything in a digipack that's just one disc, unless those thin cases used for Panic Room and Grease are considered digipacks.

Any word on whether it's a Digipak, Amaray, DVD-18, or two DVD-9s yet?

Is there an official press release for this title yet? Can't seem to find it on Uni's press site.

From DVD File (Basically a more detailed version of what's on the disc):
Also announced were the full specs for Steven Spielberg's Oscar-winning Schindler's List, hitting DVD on March 9th. Available in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and full screen versions, each with Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround tracks, extras include a new 77-minute documentary "Voices From the List," the 12-minute featurette "The Shoah Foundation Story with Steven Spielberg," plus cast and crew filmographies and "About Oskar Schindler" historical notes. Retail is $26.95 each, and there will also be a deluxe Collector's Set that includes the widescreen special edition, plus a coffee table book, CD soundtrack, senitype and certificate of authenticity. Retail will cost you $79.95.
Nice to hear that the "Voices" documentary will be full-length. My question is, why no trailers?

I wish that Criterion were releasing this! I'll buy this version though as I have a space saved in my collection for this title!

In promo material that they sent to retailers it says it will be a single disc. They show a picture of the disc, and it has disc art.

But I don't see how they could fit 4 hours and 45 minutes of video material on a single disc without making the bitrate incredibly low, especially since there's a DTS track.

Yes, that would be awful. I'm sure this DVD is two discs or a DVD-18.

I remember there was a little confusion about this with the recent release of Scarface, as well. For some reason, Universal DVD info. seems screwed up. (E.T. was the worst - DTS not on Ultimate Set, original on regular release, etc.)

Been looking forward to this for so long.

No way im skipping it unless Universal screw it up somehow (which is still quite probable )
