Laserdisc Find

I just found a great deal on Laserdiscs at my local Goodwill.
I got the complete Tex Avery set, Golden Age of Looney Toones 1-4, Jimi Hendrix Japenese import and 2 Looney Toones single discs for 70.00

Yes I am happy happy happy.
Sorry if I hit the wrong forum just wanted to share my joy.

wow, that's pretty pricey for a goodwill. though I will have to say compared to what they might have cost retail, you got a steal.

congrats. Glad to see others enjoying the rewards of LD's.

flea markets are also great places to search. if located in L.A. there is a couple of big used music stores that have a wide selection of very hard to find LD's.

Damm, nothing much to find in the RI/MA area, I cannot even seem to find much online for cheap LD's other than Ebay, but not that cheap there.

I watched a couple of these discs last night. It was so cool to be able to watch a full length Road Runner cartoon.
Yes I thought it was pricey for Goodwill but still worth the expense. I left behind two James Bond boxsets for 10.00 each and the deluxe Snow White set for 20.00.
Finding Laserdiscs in Ohio is getting to be a chore. I think most of them end on Ebay and the others are thrown away.

good lord, what a deal. IIRC a couple of the LT sets fetch hundreds of dollars when the market is right. man, so much good animation...

That's for sure. I pretty much use eBay exclusively now for buying LDs.

I've gotten old ones for as little as 40 cents each at Goodwill- they'd be thrown in with the LP's and that's what they thought they were. Got a few music LDs a few weeks ago for a buck each, including the 8-inch "We Are The World" disc.

Damn, even better than my Criterion Salo LD find a few years ago. Also passed up an LD of Hearts of Darkness.

I did nab the Ren & Stimpy essential collection though.

Ohio, you say? Very good deal; hope the boxes were in good condition. Reminds me of a deal I found at a local store a couple years ago where I got about $3,000+ worth of LD's for just under $400 (including the extraordinarily rare Lubitsch Touch box set for $19.99).

Only one box was damaged. The Looney Tunes Vol 1 the lid looks like it has been stepped on because the corners are busted out.
