www.stuckeyville.com has some good info re: this. Basically, when the show was created, it was decided that no DVD releases could occur until one year after the series ended.

Yeah, I know this is a threadcrap, but I couldn't help it. The comment they made was totally uncalled for.

Hopefully, they'll change their minds about this and release 'em sooner.
Least, that's what i'm hoping.

Well I guess that would be the silver lining on the cloud if NBC did cancel it after this season, at least we'd get our dvds sooner They certainly are cutting this season very short.

To clear up a few things.
How long the show is on the air doesn't necessarily say when it will be on DVD. Look at ALIAS and 24.
And there is no consensus that this will be its last year. It has been doing well in the ratings and with critics (don't know why some of those here don't like it, guess they aren't watching it as it is the most Lettermanesque sitcom on the air).
A few months back, when the NBC / Lion's Gate TV deal was announced this was one of the titles mentioned for being released on DVD. But since then, and NBC buying Universal, that may have changed things.
So, no official news yet, but it is likely in the future.
And as for this season, the season isn't over. It was on last week and this week. Then, it is going back to Fridays where it did well last season. Donald Trump's show is taking the Wednesday slot.
