Let's Go Voltron Force!

LET'S GO VOLTRON FORCE!
Posted by David Lambert (tvshowsondvd.com)

I just got off the phone with World Events, who tells me that DVDs for Voltron are in-the-works for 2004, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the show!

As part of the 20-year anniversary, Voltron: Defender of the Universe will be seen on DVD, in a new line of toys from Toynami, and in comic books that are already on the market from Devil's Due Comics. Also possible is a brand-new Voltron television series, but that is still in-the-works and under wraps.

This is all I can tell you for now, but as a fan of the show since it first aired, I cannot tell you how excited I am about this! Stay tuned right here, because I'm going to be all over this one.

F'ing cool.

I think we can expect the American version of the lion show.

You know Kal, I liked the GoBots, but I can't remember definitively whether there was a cartoon for it or not. Any proof out there?

Actually, I still have several Gobots. They were better made than the Transformers. Too much plastic.

It's a shame that it takes them 20 years to finally release something like this, as if they had to wait for a special event.

David Lambert posted over at the HTF that it would probably be all three versions of Voltron.

They sure do. I'm surprised that anyone liked them more.

This is really treading into off-topicville, but I was in a Toys R Us a few weeks ago and saw some really crappy-looking transforming toy and it had both the Transformers logo and the Gobots logo on it. I have no idea what caused that to happen.

Eh...

Voltron is just a b-grade knockoff of Gatchaman, but as I watched the show religiously as a kid, I'll be first in line to get it.

Why didn't the Prince just send eight or nine ro-beasts after Voltron at once instead of just one at a time? I always wondered this.

They had to give them away because they certainly couldn't sell them.
