Alien set arrived but damaged?

I excitedly opened my Alien Quadrilogy set to hear the dreaded loose shaking sound inside. To my absolute horror it wasnt a loose disc it was a loose plastic tray that had seperated from the cardboard! Anyways, I stuck it back on but should I return (Amazon)?? I really want to watch and enjoy this but am afraid it will fall apart again....

Bummer man. I say don't sweat sending it back, it'll just get damaged over the years anyway

Ill probably keep it, the box was outside on the porch when I got home late last night and it was COLD. I think the glue stuck pretty good when I got it inside warmed up and reattached it. Looks like it will be Aliens for me all weekend!

Looks like they did a real bang up job on this set...

Heard a shake inside mine and it was a loose disk - disk 1 had come off the tray. Thankfully it played fine though, just sustained a few very minor scratches.

No way would I send it back - your next one could arrive in even worse shape

I would just take it to a BB or some other store, say it was a gift and you want another one. I have done that before with no problems.

If you want to stay honest and you have a Sam's Club or Costco around I would say return the set to Amazon (and cancel order)and go to either Sam's Club ($61.97) or Costco ($62) and get it cheaper and you'll also be assured of getting a non rattling boxset. One of the advantages of Sam's Club and Costco for boxsets are they come in a nice heavy/sturdy plastic case outside of the boxset's packaging that further guarantees a perfect condition set!

I can see how that ensures no external damage to the packaging but how does that stop disks coming off disk trays inside the box or disk trays coming away from the packaging???

You are there picking (and shaking the boxset in person) yourself so you are ensuring it is intact right there in the store. And of course if you need to return it it easy to do without shipping and waiting.

I had a different problem with my box set. Disk/trays were in tact but the box has some severe scuff marks on it, even though the shrinkwrap was untorn, and the booklet was slightly mangled.

Still, as someone pointed out above, the box is sure to see wear over the years, and the DVDs are all in mint shape, so I guess I won't worry too much about it. Though it does bug me to see a brand new set look like it's already been around the block a few times...

No .. just get some popcorn, dim the lights and watch your movies

You fixed it, its fine. If it comes lose again, you can fix it again.

If it bothers you so much I suppose you're free to try for a exchange.

Do not try to return / replace the set to Best Buy or another B&M.
