Di$ney does it again...Pirates Of the Caribbean -- Censored!
Nevermind the fantastic picture or awesome sound..
Forget the fact that Di$ney did right by actually using a [cool] theatrical poster on the cover -- withOUT destroying it by covering it up using those annoying "Critic's" blurbs..
Ignore the fact that this is one kick ass movie [based on a RIDE!] with great performances all around..
Di$ney has once again proven their utter contempt for the consumer.
Lemme 'splain..
One of the things I was holding out for was some archival footage on the origins of the ride. I figured there had to be something that Disney aired on it in the past.
As the release date neared and the specs were revealed here, Grizzly posted a more complete list that included:
Needless to say, I was looking VERY foward to this disc.
December 2nd is finally here. I pop in disc 2 and select "Walt Disney's Wonderful World Of Color" to find this:

A portion?? A PORTION!?!! What, they couldn't get the rights to the ENTIRE thing?!?! How DARE they censor the original broadcast!!
I hit the eject button and yanked the disc out of my player. I put it back in the case and threw it down in the middle of my living room floor. I walked over to my Walt Di$ney rack of DVDs and started throwing those onto the floor too while yelling "Damn Di$ney! Damn those bastards to Hell! How DARE they censor yet ANOTHER part of their past...haven't they learned their lesson from the VAST number of Disney = Censorship threads on DVD Talk?? Don't they KNOW?!?!
Grabbing the lighter fluid from the kitchen, I opened it and was preparing to light the WHOLE DAMN PILE on fire when my girlfriend walked in..
She made me take my meds and told me if I was a good boy and put all the DVDs back on the rack, I could ride the Pirates Of the Caribbean the next time we go to Disney World/Land. So I calmly put all the discs back on the rack and fell into a med-induced slumber dreaming of uncensored copies of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" where Baby Herman fingers EVERYONE & Jessica Rabbit's dress is torn off as she tumbles instead of forcing us to drag out our laserdiscs for that .44343433 milisecond that looks like she has no panties on. Or "the Lion King" where there's SEX in the air and the crocodiles HAVEN'T had a face lift. Ahh...sweet, sweet nirvana.
Di$ney still sucks..

maybe disney didn't have the full episode, or the original tape was not in good condition and this was the best they could come up with. and i thought they cut a scene or a line from the movie.

I clearly remember some full frontal nudity in the theatrical version, and it's not on my DVD. It's the scene where Keira Knightly is changing in front of Johnny Depp at the pool, and Depp pretends he's catatonic.

Censorship? Because they didn't include the portions of the program that had NOTHING to do with the topic at hand? Yeah, right ....
P.S. Using $ for the "s" is brilliant - well, maybe not brilliant, but at least clever .... well, maybe not anymore, but I guess it was catchy when first used several years ago, about a million postings ago....

Guys...calm down.
Dave nailed it.
...besides...this has nothing to do with the actual MOVIE. Rather misleading thread title.
Oh... I agree ... the $ in place of an 's' is really friggin' old.
Dave nailed it.
The show says it's "Disneyland From POC to the World of Tomorrow."
They probably only included the POC portion. Makes perfect sense.
