Best Buy Exclusive for South Park 3?
I've been holding back on pre-ordering the season 3 box for 'South Park' until they say whether or not Best Buy will have another exclusive, as they did with Season 2. Anybody know anything? I figured it seemed likely because it seems like big Paramount releases get those (like the 'Deep Space Nine's or 'Indiana Jones'), and 'South Park' is being released by Paramount for the first time starting with season 3...
Anyway, yeah, anybody know?

I thought they were little snippets before the episodes, like the old intros with the dog and the fireplace?

They are NOT commentaries - they are just new introduction to each episode
They're not censored, though, Matt & Trey just recorded shorter commentaries. I'd say they're probably intro-style, as they obviously can't get very indepth with 5-7 minutes. I assume that it's because they recorded them before Paramount took over the release, as WB had previously given them trouble on the first season commentary and they had decided it wasn't worth it to do commentaries on the second season. But the only reason I think this is that they announced the commentaries before they announced that sale; they may have known about it in advance and planned the set accordingly.

I'm pretty sure they are just intros similar to the older releases. I've never heard of a commentary that lasts for 7 minutes and stops. That just seems rediculous to me.

Original Unaired Pilot Episode DVD. Basically a 28-minute cut IIRC of the Cartman gets an Anal Probe episode. I have it with my set, and it's nothing to get too excited about.

I wish for a quick and painless demise of this horrid practice, and it can take easter eggs on DVDs (especially ones advertised in print ads) with it.

I have the Season 3 set in hand and...
-- The commentaries are actually mini-commentaries which last 4-6 minutes on average. The guys state that they hate long-winded commentaries, so they simply say a few words about the origin of each episode.
-- The packaging is basically identical to the Warner releases, so it will look fine on your DVD shelf.

Google for it. I'm afraid to disclose any further details on this subject as the mods are very sensitive about anything that's remotely related to violating DMCA, which I think in their opinion is more serious than breaking the 10 commandments, or murder, rape, child molestation, etc.

Is the writing "reversed" like the Warner releases?
And as for that program mentioned for Easter eggs, my view is that's only treating the symptom and not the disease. If they want something on the disc, put it on there. If it's something unofficial like the third cut of T2 on the Ult Ed, then stick it in there, but don't advertise it like it should have been there all along. Let it be discovered in the HT community and be shared that way. But the best thing would of course be everything on the menu.

Check out www.southparkstudios.com for some previews of the min-commentaries. Better than nothing I guess. I always loved Matt & Trey's commentaries.
