How rare is the DVD Flash Gordon?
I saw this DVD in a mom and pop store today, used, pretty good condition R1 Flash Gordon in the snapper box for around 10 dollars.
I doubt its a type of movie I would want to keep so it would basically be to sell or trade to someone who would care to want it.
I was just wondering how rare it is. If sells for like 20 dollars I doubt I'd bother buying it.

This movie rocks! This movie is so 80's I even have it on CED! It did go OOP due to distribution rights chages, but will probably be released again like other titles which suffered the same fate.

I wish this film would get a full SE anamorphic re-release. A true 80's classic!

More specifically it went out of print due to Image's alleged violation of its agreement with Universal to maintain a specific retail price point. In other words, Image wasn't supposed to lower the list price, did, and Universal pulled Image's distribution license. Or so I understand it.

Image's contract was up at the end of that year anyway. (That's why they lowered the list price... to maximize sales in the final months of the contract.)
Yes, Universal did sue over this (basically saying that Image was 'devaluing' their films), but that isn't why Image lost the rights. They were losing them anyway; the contract was up.

I'm avoiding Ebay for fear of getting a bootleg.
