Sex and the City: Is it for Ladies only?

I have watched an episode once on regular TV and thought it was kinda funny.

So before I rent the first season, I want to ask how many guys here actually own the set, is it a ladies show? or is it really funny and sexy..Kinda like Sopranos with-out the violence..

I love the Sopranos and Goodfellas and Casino and you get the idea...but I also like American Beauty, Six feet Under...

So do you think I will like it and do alot of guys like it?

I own all four seasons of the show. It is not just for women. It is a funny show with some sexy women to watch.

I think guys like it (rampant skimpy clothes and nudity . . . how could you not? ), but women seem to get it in a different way and on on a whole different level than guys do. I know women who are maniacal about watching it.

For me, if it's on, I won't turn it off, but I don't go out of my way to watch it.

Either that, or he's trying to tell us something about himself.

Word!

When it was on HBO last summer, it was the only thing on TV I watched besides Teen Titans. My wife and I watch the show together, but I love it. The early episodes are different than later ones, but they are definately worth it.

Kristin Davis....

Then again, I've had a "thing" for Kim Cattrall for 25 years. Ever since The Bastard miniseries .

We get HBO so we've been watching it since it started. My wife loves it but I think its only ok. IMHO, there is way too much talking on it which really can get annoying after awhile.

But the women do look good and it can be funny at times. If I was to rate it, I would say rent it. Even though she likes it better, my wife would also say rent it. This I know from asking her in the past if she wanted the complete sets.

My girlfriend and I think it's hilarious.

Her dad and aunt were talking about it, and he was surprised that there was "beavage" in it.

I must now use this phrase.

But, yeah, the show is hysterical.

It's a great show. Creative, fresh and funny. Guys can learn a lot about relationships from it too. Men might say the same thing about Women watching Sopranos but thats a show that has a mixed fanbase.

The first season, especially the first few episodes, are not as cohesive as the series is now. The gal pal relationship stuff didn't really become the underlying theme of the show until later in the first season. The first few episodes are still good, but they're quite different in tone than what the show has become known for.

If it were really designed just for women, why would Kim Cattrall be completely nude 40% of the time?

Inerestingly, I watch every episode, yet my wife doesn't like it.

Are you actually monitoring time or is this your educated guess?

Well written, funny, warm and occasionally, Kristin's nipples are onscreen.

What's not to love?
