help me decide on these gift dvds

so, i'm getting my boyfriend some dvds for x-mas. he wants all of these but i can't buy them all. which are definites and why?

amarcord (CC)
the brood
the tenant
cronos
wrong turn
ichi the killer (although he'll probablly get it first)
die hard set
visitor q

pick the top 4 or 5. i know tenant and brood are pretty cheap so should i go for quantity or strictly quality. thanks!

On strictly replay value, I'd say get him ICHI, the DIE HARD SET, VISITOR Q, CRONOS, and AMARCORD.

For me it'd be:

the brood
the tenant
cronos
ichi the killer
die hard set

Brood is $5.88 at Wal*Mart.

Tenant / Cronos can be had cheaply (in terms of price) as well (DDD)

Die Hard is great and can gotten extremely inexpensively from Canada. (Anybody remember the HMV Deal?)

Ichi I've never seen but my business partner RaVeS about it (near incessantly at times) so my curiosity is piqued. Gifts that are from out of left field are sometimes the best as far as I'm concerned.

Cronos - Hard to beat Guillermo Del Toro for a stylish movie (I would also highly recommend The Devil's Backbone)

Die Hard Boxset - Bruce Willis + guns + bad guys = wall2wall fun

Ichi the Killer & Visitor Q - Takashi Miike, 'nuff said

I noticed he already has Audition, so if he's getting a strong interest in Takashi Miike I'd recommend a new biography about him called "Agitator" that's out in hard and softcover.
