That's a mighty broad brush you're painting with there... -rolleyes-

re: The X2 error - You ARE going to find very few to none on this board who picked up the full frame edition.

Easy problem to solve. First, place the full-screen discs on a hard flat surface. Next, you'll need a sledgehammer. I'm sure you can find one around the house, or use some similar tool. Now, precision is key. You must smash both discs AT THE SAME TIME, otherwise you risk damaging your hard flat surface... That should do it. Let me know if it does not.
Jesus, that's just crazy enough to work!

No one deserves to be ridiculed for asking a legit question. Its no ones business what version of a dvd someone buys.

Bunch of retards the lot of you.

I would never purchase the full screen version. I had posted that from work earlier today. I work at a retail location that sells full and widescreen versions. Had a customer come in that just purchased the full screen version.

He was getting pixelation errors and frozen frames on both of his dvd players during certain parts of the movie, like you would normally get with a scratched or dirty disc. We tried it on 3 different brand DVD players in the store and got the same errors.

Opened up 2 brand new discs with the same errors. I was just suprised nobody else has reported this issue. Most likely because most people here wouldn't buy fullscreen either...

Well, take a big roll of black scotch tape, and tape the top and bottom of your TV screen, horizontally. Should solve problem.

Way to be helpful, guys. You might want to review the Threadcrapping guidelines sometime soon. Or do the threadcrapping rules only apply when its a position the forum all agrees on?

Let me be the FIRST to actually attempt to answer the question.

Since you're not the only one getting this problem with the full screen discs, it's probably a bad batch of just the full screen versions.

Try getting it at different stores (I know that may be tough if the store you originally bought it from won't give you an outright refund). Also, try playing the glitched DVD at the store you bought it from.

But, at least we know that X2 is in the 2.40:1 ratio (it says on the back). And that is its OAR.

Of course, many people make the mistake of saying that they'll be waiting for a widescreen version of Citizen Kane, Gone With The Wind, etc. :D
