What is WS vs. WS Chk on DVD?
I'm trying to pre-order a movie on BestBuy.com and there are two versions. One is ws and the other is ws chk. I'm assuming ws is widescreen. But what is chk? Thanks in advance.

what movie?
"Young Sherlock Holmes". And even when I searched "chk" on the Best Buy site, only one other movie came up with that acronym.

I think Ginwen is right. Distributors allow them to purchase the dvd w/ or w/o the security tag placed inside.
I imagine a store just pays a few cents more to get it w/ the security tag. Most probalby opt for it.
Heck most online stores get them though I imagine it's more to protect against internal employee theft at the warehouse.

When given the option, get it without the CHK, unless you LIKE having security tags inside your DVDs.
I especially hate it when they have digipacks with the Checkpoint security sticker packaged INSIDE the plastic, so you can't remove it.
It's a minor gripe but still, when you have the option, why pick the one with the tag?
